Inspiration on a Monday?!

Well it's a little after 10pm here on a Monday night and I'm already scrambling to get anywhere near completing the things I'd hoped to by the end of today-but as it tends to do, LIFE happens.

I can at least say it was a productive day at work, processing around 350 invoices for the day (very thrilling stuff), but aside from that, I wanted to have at least ONE blog post on my website by today, but that appears not likely to happen at this point.

I also have about 6 out of 10 pages of homework to do for my son's speech therapy by our next appontment at 9am tomorrow morning!

The largest portion of my day was of course spent at work, and before and after that, until around 7.30-8pm, its ALL about the kids. As other parents out there I'm sure would be familiar with, the hours of around 5.30-8pm are like the witching hour for little ones.

Trying to succesfully mange meal times, baths, diapers, PJs, clothes for next day and so on can literally take hours, and when balancing a non verbal autistic son in that mix, just these seemingly simple tasks can be cause for multiple meltdowns, tantrums and a lot of screaming from our son-such was the case today.

We of course also make sure we spend good quality time with the kids before they do go down though, as that is of course the GOOD stuff, times you cherish, just being in the company of those who mean the absolute most to you out of anyone on the planet.

We want to give our son the absolute best chance we can at learning to communicate without just constant screaming, to play with others, and to just give him, as well as our daughter, the best, happiest possible life we can, so at this point I'm going to have to finish this homework for my son.
But a great email from Kyle, and reading a few awesome, uplifting posts here on WA inspired to me at least try to write something so i figured I'd share a bit about my day, and have now drafted a quick 300 words towards my next website post, which I'll hopefully be able to post tomorrow.

I guess on days like this, it just feels like go, go, go from the moment we wake up, so finding that 'inspiration' to write something after going through the day can be difficult to say the least.
Just really stoked that I found WA, as I was seriously about to go one of two other ways before I found WA, and the one that was appealing the most at the time, was creating my own website/blog and trying to make a go of it myself.
Now after what I've learned in the awesome WA training modules just over the first MONTH has equipped me far better than I probably would've gotten in YEARS on my own, trying to figure it all out in bits and pieces.

It's of course not only the amazing training here, but just the community feel here that once again continues to astound and inspire me, to write MORE, to push forward, and to just put in even that ONE sentence/paragraph a day, as even that is a step in the direction of my goals.

Hoping for a more productive day on Tuesday on the dreams and goals front. Thank you all once again for your inspiration and support, some days it means even more than others.

Matty, take it easy. I understand what you're facing at the moment. Although these moments seems a lot, please cherish them because the kids will all grow up very fast. Take heart my friend. Slow and steady your website will grow and you will reap the success of your hard work.

Thanks Simone, yeah the patience game is one I'm become very proficient at these days, so I'm understanding and loving more and more that this is a long term investment-I dont want just quick cash, I want the REAL stuff-the long lasting stuff.

As they say, good things are worth waiting for, and nothing worth ANYTHING ever came easy. Thanks again buddy, hope you're going well with your own little 6 man troop these days. :-)

Yea, Matty we are all pulling along. We are together and that's the main thing

Glad to hear it Simone. I just read your post and sorry again to hear of your loss, I'm sure all your kids will really appreciate your strength and upbeat attitude at times like this, as we'd say in New Zealand, "Kia Kaha" (be strong). :-)

It is indeed nice when all the members of the family pulls together. Thank you again for your kind words.

Small steps like this ARE inspiring, Matty! Thank you and best success to you in the new week!

Jeff

Thanks heaps Jeff. And the same to you brother, I do enjoy reading about your days-tis the next thing I'm about to go read, so keep up the good stuff. :-)

You're very welcome, Matty! Have a great day!

Great post!
Joe

Thanks a lot Joe, I really look up to guys like yourself, Jeff, as can learn a lot from you guys from what I've seen-so getting good feedback from you guys means alot & inspires me to do more.

Cheers,

Matty.

Matty, thanks and you keep it up.
Joe

Mat, I know what its like but fortunately for me its a distant memory. I do get reminded of the trauma of it all when my son phones, he's going through the same work and parent pains.
Stay lucky.
Bux

Haha thanks Dave, it can be helpful to remember the constant complete exhaustion will hopefully one day ease a bit!

It's that catch 22 situation, the kids are adorable, do cute things etc when they're young like this, but also quite a handful, so it's like you want them to become more independent, with entertaining themselves etc, but then you kinda don't want them to grow up too fast either!

Hope Monday treats you well brother.

Enjoy them, you brought them into the world and they will teach you so much.
Bux

Thanks Bux, will do..and yes, they have already taught me soooo much. PATIENCE first and foremost! Like I thought I was patient before kids, but that was NOTHING compared to the patience we all need as parents!

But yeah, just seeing either one of my kid's smiles just makes it all worth the time and effort, it's the best and I definitely wouldn't be without either of them-definitely in my top 3 humans category :-)
