40 Years to get to HERE.

Well I've hit that 'scary' number of celebrating four decades on this earth today! It's funny, looking back, through the likes of the facebook 'on this day' memories etc, I cannot believe it's already been TEN WHOLE YEARS since I had an awesome 30th Beach party, at the beach house we rented at the time, on the Central Coast of NSW, Australia.

Although that was an amazing day, and night, full of great friends, great times, and LOADS of fun, it can at times put a bit of a damper on it when I think about how many of the people there that day/night (around 40 or so in attendance altogether), I have not actually caught up with in person SINCE!

A big reason for that, is that due to where I worked at that time, many of these friends were travelers, generally over in Australia on a working visa, working at the online casino place we all worked, in the world-famous Bondi. Most of these friends have gone back to their home countries-mainly consisting of France, Germany, Italy, Spain and the US.

Because of the awesome hospitality we kiwis are famous for, I would regularly have many of these friends staying over at our beach house in weekends, almost every weekend for a couple of years. Due to giving these lovely people free accommodation, BBQ's, and generally lessons in surfing, they are all STILL always happy to remind me that I've always got a bed anytime I can make it overseas.

Obviously 2020 being the unprecedented kind of year it's been, all overseas travel is pretty well halted still at this time. However, unfortunately, I was never even close over the last decade, to getting overseas anyway, too busy trying to build a life, raise children, pay the bills etc etc. This fact used to depress me at times, as I couldn't see any way forward even in the future, where I might be lucky enough to be in a situation where everything else would be taken care of enough for a while that we may be able to put aside a decent enough chunk of change to make some overseas travel a reality.

But in October this year, after what has literally been a very brutal few years for us in almost every way, everything changed when I discovered Wealthy Affiliate! Only since finding this amazing platform and community, the amazing training modules and learning resources, and the complete access to REAL people actually already doing this stuff for a living, have I come to realise that all my 'pipe dream' stuff is more than just possible.

With the amount of resources here on WA, and the absolute endless, relentless assistance from all the lovely people on here, one has almost no reason NOT to make a success of this, there are countless examples of people right here living the exact life i want-where I don't have to trade 40hrs a week (plus the commute) for a 'wage' and can instead enjoy every single day with my family, giving my kids and wife absolutely everything they want and need, and getting to enjoy a bit of that 'good life' that up to this point has been reserved only for dreams.

I may be older now than I've ever been, but I've never been this excited about something that I can see that is REAL, and is within my power to mould into anything I want it to be. Have a great day and week all, I've got a lot of writing to do!.

Cheers!

Matty.

Congrats on joining WA. I have only been here for 2 months but am still amazed at the kindness and professionalism of its members. I run a small ESL in Vietnam. I have been here for 15 years, not bad for a fellow kiwi. I was born in the South Island which is why I have probably ended up somewhere warm.

Thanks matey, yeah I joined in Oct 2020, but very much still a beginner really.

The community aspect here is crazy good yes, anytime I've been stuck on anything, within minutes-a couple of times even SECONDS, I've had a whole bunch of awesome, helpful replies.

We almost have no reason not to make it work here, being surrounded by so many helpful others already killing it online.

Vietnam looks like it has some really awesome places I'd love to visit one day for sure, and a couple of random little surf breaks I'd love to check too.

Where in the south Island where you from? Although I'm from Hawkes Bay, I did live in Invercargill for a couple of years in my early 20s, was an odd, but fun, cold little place.

Congrats on your 40th Birthday! 🎂🎉🎈🥂

Thank you very much Eugene, much appreciated

Happy Birthday Matty.
I can remember in detail my 40th birthday party. A fantastic evening. I hope you have a great day too.
Don't worry about age.
However old you are, 30, 40, 60, or even 80, remember that there a lot of people who never make it to your age. Life is good, however tough it gets.
Bux

Thanks heaps Bux, that is some awesome advice to remember- even many of my all time favourite music artists didn't even get this far, so gotta be doing at least something right.
Thanks again brother.

Happy birthday Matty. I hope being 40 brings you much happiness and fulfilled dreams. Continue to enjoy your time here to grow from all that is on offer to you.
Stay well :)
Tracy

Thanks very much Tracy, really appreciate that.
