Viewing websites from others gives you a better understanding of how it is laid out and how it has been set up with different plug-ins and features. Prior to the Wealthy Affiliate training, I would not have even given this any though. Now having gone though stage 2 of the training, it is as though the blinkers are slowly coming off and I have a better view of the ‘behind-the-scenes'’ and the actual functionality of it all. Knowing the functionality and what is happening in the background gives me a bit more insight as to how a website may have been structures and designed. Power stuff for sure.

I believe in presenting yourself and your site as you are. Particularly where content is concerned, it should carry its own personality, essentially being a reflection of you and your own writing style. I do think that if you are stuck for site layout and design, its good to go through the training and have a loo at some other sites to see what sort of layout has been adopted. Perhaps you will get some inspiration or ideas to use on your own site layout and design. As mentioned before, your site should be unique and a reflection of who you are, so there is no value in blatantly ripping off someone else’s work and uniqueness. Gaining inspiration from others however, that is a different story.

So where to from here? What of your own website? I say keep at it and follow the trial and error path. The more you play around with your site, the more familiar you will become with it and you will be able to visualize it better. Essentially, it should be simple to navigate, but interesting enough to engage. It has to showcase the best of what you are and what the site is actually about.
