Pollinators
Just wanted to give a big shout out to the pollinators.
Who are the pollinators? You ask
No they are not some new band or one hit wonders.
This week in the US marks the Week of the Pollinators
From the 19th to the 25th of June.
A time to perhaps pause and reflect, show some gratitude and love towards.
The pollinators play a huge part in our wellbeing.
Some may say even to our own very existence…
So who are the Pollinators?
Pollinators are the 200,000-different species of insects and around 1000 different species of animals
That contribute every day to our very existence.
From the Butterfly to the Bees, the Birds and the Bats
These quiet achievers go about their business with little fanfare or personal recognition.
In the US alone the pollinators and the process of pollination contributes around 20 Billion dollars in production per year.
Without the pollinators, we wouldn’t be enjoying that morning Coffee
Chocolate would be as rare as hen’s teeth.
It is estimated that one third of food produced in the world is thanks in part to the pollinators.
About 75% of all flowering plants require the help of the pollinator to be fertilised and assist in a healthy productive ecosystem that we all benefit from.
So, next time you are sitting down enjoying a meal. Just think.
Every third mouthful is Thanks to the Pollinator.
Certainly, something I am Grateful for…

Informative post Matt, great to know that these critters are good for things other than scaring the crap out of some.

All the best.
Matt.
Interesting to think about. I heard that the honey bee population in the USA is dropping due to some sort of mite that came from a European bee, or something like that. It could spell bad news!
Thanks for the post
