When we put images in posts and pages and edit the image's information, should be put a check in the "Open link in a new tab" box?

Why or why not? What is the advantage or disadvantage of checking the box?

I always open in new tab. That was covered in the cert course Marty, maybe you just missed it. A lot of the time I don't link images though, unless they need to open it to see more or if it's an affiliate link. I haven't done Bootcamp either. I am waiting until I can make my first site a success.

Yeah, I apparently missed it. That brings up a question. Is there a table of contents on the Certification Course, so that folks can go back and find topics to review?

Good question Marty, I don't remember seeing one

I agree with Loes. I always check "Open link in new tab" if the link is to someone else's site. That way, if someone click on it and is wisked away to another destination in cyberspace, when they close that tab or window, my site is still open in the window underneath (or the tab next to it).

If the link takes them to another page on my own site, I leave it unchecked.

Thanks, Hal. This makes sense. I need to go back through my pages and posts and make these changes that you and Loes have suggested.

When you are not adding a link to your image, you choose for "none" that will make it unclickable.

When you add a link to a post of your own, you can let it open in the same tab, people will stay on your website

When you add an external link to your image, you let it open into a new tab, because people will leave your website, and you want to keep them as log as possible

Hey, this is very clear and helpful! Thanks, Loes! I don't remember any instruction from the Certification course on this.

Maybe I should work through the Affiliate Bookcamp. I understand there is additional training there. Can I do Bootcamp without creating another website? Do you think I should create a second website to promote WA and work through Bootcamp?

1

WA has a very good affiliate program and when you have the time, I would go for it for sure
