Need to Find Content You Wrote in a Past Comment?

I needed to find a comment that I had made several weeks ago. I had put a lot of thought into the comment and needed that information for personal use but had not written it down. But, I didn't know where I could find a list of my prior comments.

I have been with WA since October 2016. Why didn't I know where to find this back logged information? Heck if I know. I guess because this was the first time I have needed to revisit an old comments post.

So I went to Live Chat and received an answer from tekmaven. Thanks tekmaven! Now I know how to find old comments data.

Here's how:

1. Go to Site Rubix at the left side of the WA main screen and click on it. It is the box just under the Live Chat box.

2. Then choose the fourth option down which is named Site Comments and click on it.

3. When the comments page loads take note of the box to the right named Offer Comments. Look just below it and you will see a link named Comments Offered.

4. Click on the Comments Offered link and a list of your comments about the websites of other WA members will load.

5. Scroll down the list and notice that the names of the websites that your commented on are at the left side of the screen.

6. Find and click on the website name that you think has the comment you are looking for.

7. Your comment for that site will load!

Gee, I feel like a dummy! But, at least I know how to do this now. Always learning!

It's always good news to find out how well the entire WA setup has been thought out! Thanks, and best wishes for your success!

I realize that my original directions were a bit vague. So I've added more specific steps above!

Thanks for the clarification -- from your original description, I thought you were talking about comments posted on WA discussion threads rather than ones posted through the SiteComments system.

Yes, I can see how my directions may have been a bit confusing. Thanks for your question. It helped me see the need to clarify my post.

Thanks Marty.
Jerome

You're welcome, Jerome!

This is great Marty .. thank you .. this issue drives in insane .. thanks you again. Cheers, William.

You're welcome, William!

Perhaps I'm missing something obvious (or I haven't had enough coffee yet this morning) -- In step 1, how do you get to the "comments section" that you're referring to? I don't see any link to that on the main WA page nor on my profile page.

A great question Bob. Another I have is how can the comment you are looking for be indexed and found so easily in the thread.

Within a thread, I'll typically just do a Ctrl-F search for my name.

For me, the main problem is remembering which thread I might have posted the comment on.

Click on the Site Rubix box on the left side of the WA main screen. It is just under the Live Chat box.

Then choose the fourth option down which is Site Comments.

Then look to the right and you will see a large box named Offer Comments. If you look just under that box you will see Comments Offered.

Click on Comments Offered. You will then see a list of all the comment posts that you have given to other WA members. Scroll down to look for the comment you are interested in and click it. Your past message will come up!

When you click on Comments Offered, your list of past comments will come up. You need to look at the names of the sites that you commented on. The names of the sites are at the left of the screen. The name of the site should help you know what you are looking for.

See my comment to Mike's question. Hope this helps, Bob!
