I Want More Website Comments!
I want more website comments!
I realize we should use the Site Comments area to receive comments for our websites. In order to receive one comment, we have to give two comments. I understand why this is important. We want to encourage a give and take support system on WA.
But sometimes I give two comments, to receive one, and the one I get is generic and does not speak to the topic of the page or post. So, I have to give two more comments to get one. This means that sometimes I have to give 4 comments in order to get one comment that is relevant to the topic of my page or post. This has been a very slow process for receiving comments in my experience.
I get better comments when the person making the comment knows something about my niche. But many don't. That's the flaw in the system. I know I can disapprove comments, but I hate to do that to someone who is trying to be helpful, but doesn't know enough about a niche area to be helpful.
Since the number of comments we receive affect Google ranking, it seems to me that we need an alternative way to elicit comments for our websites so that we gain more comments and more quickly. We want everyone to be successful. And since comments on our sites will drive better ranking, shouldn't we do everything we can to help one another with comments?
Are we maximizing the number of website comments that we are providing one another? I don't think so.
I may be wrong about this, but I think we are discouraged from generating a WA blog to ask people to go to our website and leave comments. I think the training we received, encouraged us to do this once, but after that to only use the Site Comments section. Am I right about that?
Is there another way we could get more comments from one another? Just think how many comments we could get if we were not limited by the Site Comments guidelines. I truly do understand those guidelines, but I would like another way to get more comments, more quickly.
Maybe, the system could be set up to allow us to ask the WA community once a quarter to go to our site and leave comments, and block us out until three more months rolled by. Something like that.
Or, we have to complete the certification process first in order to gain the privilege of asking a certain number of people each quarter to give us comments.
Or, you get free Site Comments points at certain levels as your WA ranking becomes lower.
As you can tell by the image above, I'm a bit conflicted! Is that image a boy or a girl? Oh, well . . . If you want to tell me I'm crazy, that's ok too! Ha!
What are your thoughts about this?

Need website comments? the give and take comment thread That's what Chris2005 is trying to tell you.
Oh, ok. Now I understand. Thanks. This was the one place in the training that I referred to in this post. I remember doing that once, but I did not know it was a give and take thread that we could use anytime.
You can also edit the comments you receive before you publish them unless they are awful. If they have like grammar mistakes or they are not that specific you can fix them. Other than that you know you have to deal with it. Some people care some don't.
I'm not sure how I should interpret your response, Paul. If it was intended as a joke, that's funny! But if not, I'm sorry if my post offended you in any way.
I enjoy humor, but my wife says I have a dry humor and folks may not know when Im joking, or being manipulative by using humor to make a serious point. So, I guess I'm overtly sensitive to this issue. But, all that being said, keep up the humor! We all need a good laugh! How else will I learn about the nuances of English humor?
I must reluctantly agree with you, Marty. it can be frustrating at times. I make it a point to postcomments that are well thought out, well written and relevant. But I don't always get the same thing in return. I used to feel guilty about not accepting sub-par comments in return. However, based on how long I've been at it and how little effort some give in return, I will usually private message some who fall short in the reciprocation department and let them know they let me down. Most of the time, I just let it go and mve on though. It's still a pretty fair system, and hey.. right now, it's all we've got.
I just left you a comment on your guitarhelp4u website.

Hope that's okay :-)

Thanks for leaving a comment on my site, Hal. And, also for the information on the way you deal with sub-par comments. That's helpful.
Check this one out but as always be spam wary! https://www.facebook.com/Comment-Maximizer-Review-1460073154263571/
Thanks for this Facebook information, Mike! It looks very interesting. What do I need to be aware of to be spam wary?
Hi, Ronald! Which link is broken? Mike's link or a link on my website? Mike's link worked for me.
Thanks, Angela! Go to my profile page and scroll down to the bottom right side of the page and you will see my niche URL. It is a guitar site.
I do! I have 6 credits right now! I'm not suggesting changing the Sites Comments process. I think it is a healthy process that encourages the value of giving and taking. Am I missing something--the give and take thread?
There is another place to ask for comments. Type in the give and take thread in the search bar above. Follow instructions.
John
Forgive me for my ignorance, but where is the give and take thread in the search bar above? Are you saying I should type in a question, asking folks to visit my website in the search bar above where it says "Hey Marty, search for help here . . ."? If so, I didn't think doing that was accepted WA protocol.
Marty,
Was on mobile before, could not copy and paste. Here is the link that Kyle has to the give and take thread Need website comments? the give and take comment thread Just follow the instructions and see if you do any better with comments. Have had good days and bad days in this area also.
John
OK, thanks, John! I'm surprised that you have had some bad days using the give and take thread.
Sometimes you get no response even after you leave a comment on another site. People want comments, don't want to take the time to return the favor.
John
Yeah, that's not right! It's certainly not reflective of the spirit of Wealthy Affiliate membership and the supportive community that we enjoy!

I don't have a link to your site to look at it....I have played Guitar since 1969. I play mostly acoustic now and my fingers are getting stiff and I find the easy riffs of a few years back aren't so easy now...
