To date or not to date your blogs!
To date or not to date your blogs! That is the Question
I'm curious on peoples thoughts regarding including the post date on blogs (on your website that is). Yes, I know, not what you thought.
Do you include (show) it or not? If so, why? If not, why not?
On the one hand, if you post the date, readers may bypass (exit) older blogs considering them old news, potentially irrelevant and only suitable for the trash can.
However, displaying the date can also indicate activity.
But, not having dates doesn't necessarily indicate activity or inactivity and it would then be the quantity of posts (if anyone cared to delve further) that would indicate an active site perhaps. So, perhaps this is a good approach.
I can understand not including the date if the product for instance is 'EVERGREEN' to combat thoughts that it may no longer be available or has been superceded if it's an older post.
However, my niche generally and the general blogs I write are timeless.
Perhaps the answer is to archive posts where a product is no longer in circulation.
Have I confused you yet?
How do others manage this?
Or is this simply six to one, half a dozen the other and not a big deal?

I have the date on them. Not sure it really matters but products are always changing and so is the information that a person is putting on the site so dates on the posts should be helpful I think.

I always include the date on my blogs;
I know I like to check the blog post dates on sites that I visit to see whether the information there is up to date or not.
Since I write about WordPress coding and theme development, if a site is old I do not usually go there.
Of course, you can always change the date on your blogs if you want; I sometimes like to change dates on blogs to get them in a sensible order on the archive page.

Hmm, I didn’t realise you could change the date. I’ve learn’t something. I can see how dates might be necessary for a blog such as yours.

I'm a newbie so feel free to take this as a grain of salt but on occasion when updating or when adding links couldn't you update the date?
By the way I'm against office romance! hahaha
Lol, yes I learnt that you can actually change the date.
If I may aske what have you decided to do about the dates and another question would be if you change the dates would Google treat it as a new post, I don't know I'm just asking
