Blogging with Purpose - Are you thinking 2 steps ahead?

When you write your blogs what do you do?

Do you alternate say a product review with a topic based blog?

That was my initial thinking. I generally think 2 blogs ahead (maybe a little more sometimes). I haven't followed this approach to a tee (heavier on the topic based blog), but I wonder if it is a sound approach.

There is a purpose behind this approach. I will write a topic based blog with the intention of following up with a product review related to that blog (or vice versa) so I can insert links to and from each of these after to give the reader more information.

Sometimes a topic based blog will have the opportunity for multiple product reviews or additional more specific topic based blogs etc. It opens up a multitude of avenues to create content.

What's your blogging approach?

What do you find works for you?

Yes, content is key. Glad it came at the right time for you.

Thanks Martine.
I’m doing mostly reviews now., and I try to switch the category type up. About every 10th post will be an informational post. This approach has been working well for me. I have set up different review templates for my categories and it saves me lots of time.
Cheers

Hmmm, ok, thanks for that. I think I might also set up review templates. I’m curious, when you review do you put the product price at the top. I have been doing that (following Kyle’s example in the training) but someone suggested to me that that might not be a good idea. I can see both sides. What do you think?

Hi Martine,
I put the price at the top as a summary, and then in the body I discuss whether there are pricing plans etc and what you get for those plans.
I think it comes down to personal preference.
Cheers

Thanks Melissa. Similar then, I'll see how it goes with my existing approach and see what happens. Maybe tweak if I have to down the track.

I am just working on the content in general and now I think I will start to have a better plan for the next weeks and months ahead.

Thanks for sharing this. I try to have a list for the upcoming weeks. Sometimes it works better than others. Christine

Yes, I keep a list of ideas too. It's satisfying when you cross them off. I agree, sometimes we do better than at other times.
