Pinterest Allows Affiliate Links Again!

Some people were discouraged when Pinterest banned affiliate links and even stopped using Pinterest. They have recently lifted the ban on affiliate links, so I'm making a blog letting others know that you can post affiliate links on Pinterest again. Pinterest started allowing affiliate links again on May 12, 2016. https://business.pinterest.com/en/blog/affiliate-l...

Before you go pin happy, remember to avoid overdoing it and only posting pins about your business. Wealthy Affiliate links have been banned from G+, and we wouldn't want the site being banned from Pinterest due to spamming. One way to prevent yourself from posting too many self-promotional pins is to allow yourself one promotional pin every 9-10 pins.

Are you excited about this change? Or do you think Pinterest will ban affiliate links again?

Thanks for sharing :)

This is great to know Martina. I might just tinker with my pinterest account again hehe :)

Hi Martina,

This is a very interesting change from Pinterest. I've been hearing a lot of different information over what is allowed and what is not. For example - I've heard from one source that it is against Amazon's Terms of Service to put their products on Pinterest. This worries me, because I don't want my Amazon account closed. So would love to hear your take on it :)

Also, Wealthy Affiliate links are still considered spam by Pinterest :(

Cheers,
Cath

Hello, it is true that businesses control the terms of their affiliate links. Many businesses don't want affiliates pinning their products if they already have a Pinterest account because it could decrease their revenues. Pinterest allows businesses to sell their products on Pinterest. So if they compete with affiliates in the same space, they may get less money. If Amazon (or any other affiliate program) tells you to not use your affiliate link on Pinterest, then don't.

I haven't tried pinning a WA link yet but I'm sad to hear the site is banned from Pinterest. I was hoping all affiliate programs would have a chance.

Glad to hear! Hope everyone follows the tips!
