Should I change my blog niche?
I NEED HELP!
I feel like I'm at a crossroads, as I'm not sure whether I have picked the right niche. Don't get me wrong, I love writing about my chosen topic but I think the competition may be too high!?
My chosen topic was to write about my journey at becoming a single mum and the challenges I have faced along the way. At the time, when my feelings were really raw, it helped me to put my experiences down on paper and some of what I have written about is very personal and right from the heart!
I still have so many ideas for my niche, so I'm definitely not running out of ideas. But when I look at the competition there are so many 'mummy bloggers' out there, all competing for a slice of success, which many of them seem to have already achieved. Is my niche too broad?
I have thought about venturing off into other ideas that are children orientated and maybe setting up another blog in addition to the one I already have? Thoughts on this please. However, I'm already spread very thin and my time is very limited.
I have an idea of where I want to be but I don't think I have a clear plan of how I'm going to get there and sometimes it can feel very overwhelming! Maybe I need to set a goal??
Here is the link to my website -

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks
Lisa

Hey Lisa,
You have a great website I have just had a look at it. If it was me I would concentrate on your niche. There are a lot of women at various ages that would love to read your blogs. Maybe offer them informative information to them that you have affiliate links too. Or maybe start a single mum's shop? maybe a thought.
Hope this helps

Hi Lee,
Thanks for the lovely comments. My aim is to help others in a similar situation to me.
My next job is to obtain more affiliate links, as I only currently have Amazon. I did have one relating to positive parenting techniques but the company they were using misrepresented themselves, so I can't use that now.
The single mum's shop is certainly food for thought and something that had not even crossed my mind. I think I will definitely look into this.
I will stick with it, as it is something I am really passionate about.
Thanks again
Lisa
