What Is Vibe Coding?

Hey there,

The first time I heard about vibe coding was much like the first time I heard about the setup process of building a website from the ground up. As in, before there were builders like the site builder on Wealthy Affiliate.

To put it simply, none of it made sense. Back then, I didn't get what a domain was and, until recently, I couln't wrap my head around building an app.

Turns out, in both cases, I was somewhat overthinking the process. But as the world shifts to creating new platforms like social media (which I also didn't get at first, lol), AI, vibe coding and whatever else is around the corner, as business owners of any capacity, we need to pivot with these changes as well.

I've written this resource to explain what vibe coding is and creating a series to help you build your own creations while also sharing my journey.

What Is Vibe Coding?

Vibe coding is a way of creating software by using AI to turn your ideas and instructions into working code.

Instead of writing every line of code yourself, you work with an AI tool of choice (ex. Lovable, Rocket, Emergent, etc.) by describing what you want to build in plain language. Many people start off by using their initial AI assistant of choice like Chat GPT, Claude, etc., to help refine prompts, solve problems, and improve instructions before sending them to their coding AI.

I know that part might sound confusing but bare with me and follow along. We're going to walk through the whole process together or you can find additional training here on the platform.

Do I Still Need To Do Anything When Vibe Coding?

Vibe coding does not remove the need for thinking or problem solving. You're still the one guiding the project, making decisions, and shaping the final result. The AI simply handles much of the technical work that would have previously required more programming knowledge.

For many people, vibe coding is opening the door to building projects they may never have attempted before.
