Some Hump Day Motivation On My Last Day of 40

Hey there,

I don't know about you, but for me, my birthday always makes me reflect on the past year and even moreso my life in general. Lately I've found myself helping out some mom friends of mine and wanted to share some of the things I've been encouraging them with over the past year.

1. If it matters deeply to you, no one else's opinion matters
2. If it matters even just a little bit to you, no one else's opinion matters
3. Try that idea you have in your head because life is too precious to spend the next few decades in regret
4. Marriage and having children doesn't make our lives end, it changes the dynamic. Figure out how to work with the new dynamic instead of giving up on yourself.
5. You matter
6. Feel comfortable treating yourself and getting the things you want. Sometimes, yeah, you have to sacrifice but sometimes your turn comes around for others to sacrifice for you when/if needed
7. Even if you can only get a little done, the tortoise beat the hare, so keep putting one foot in front of the other

Those are the things that stand out to me as well. Over the past year, I've been saying yes to myself more and no to others more.

Being a parent means that got added to your character pie not that it became the whole pie.

No matter how much you try to please the social norms and other people's opinions, your calling is what it is no matter if it fits in or not. As long as your not harming others, try different things and do more for yourself if you don't.
