Pinterest Update: Confusing Results But Pressing On

Hey there,

I've honestly been dreading sharing my update for this month but since it is storming here on vacation-ish, I figured that its no better time than now to put this info together. Admittedly, on the surface, things look like they're still crashing, which is not the goal *cries* but as I'm digging into the stats, I'm noticing some trends that I feel are good signals.

So lets start with the Pinterest stuff since that's where my sharing this particular site began and also what has been a bit frustrating and confusing. lol, I showed my daughter (because we are both doing this business together) and she also came to the conclusion that it makes no sense.

Pinterest Stats Revealed

Here I took a 60 day screenshot so you can see what I'm talking about with a clearer understanding. Because, as I reported last month, my impressions have been dropping faster than a meteor, which is fine...if it was the only thing going on.

But you can also see on the stats at the top that all of the key indicators for social media are actually going up. Engagement, Saves and Engaged Audience have all increased.

That is what I'm confused about. If all of these indicators are pointing to people engaging with my content, why then is it not being shared more?

I am really confused about what is going on here.

Website Stats

I'm a bit miffed to see so much red on my graphs so excuse me for not sharing the entire graph. Since a large portion of traffic has been pushed from Pinterest and Facebook, both of which have not performed well over the last period, generally speaking, site traffic has been dropping as well.

But at the same time, there are other things that are showing growth this period that I'm quite happy about. Sometimes things can be going good and bad at the same time. And also through my many miscarriages, I've also learned that:

Things can go wrong and NOT be yours or anyone's fault

So even though things look a bit grim right now, I am still working on some things and doing my best to keep a positive mindset.

Organic & AI Growth Signals

This shows up better on my phone but you can see here how my top site traffic sources stack. What I really like is the spike in organic growth.

You can also see that it is being picked up by AI as well since ChatGPT is shown. But what I really like that is not shown is that it is also being referenced by Copilot as well.

So I'm really happy to see that my efforts in SEO and AEO are paying off because truth be told, it takes a lot more time and effort after the actual article is written, lol.

Future Plans & Strategy

Going forward, I am still going to create Pinterest content. I want to see if it will start picking up in June, closer to summer since I do have some summer specific content.

I have fallen off of video content, partly because of the extra time I'm spending optimizing for sear and AI, but I still need to get video back into my process as well.
