AI Accountability In Content Creation

Hey there,
I'm sure we all know how popular AI is becoming for content creation. And not just writing but imagery, video, music and more.
It is great when it is used properly but not so great when it is used to create false or otherwise misleading content. So where is the line drawn?
Is This Real?
So I was creating some imagery with ImageStudio for my site FunShoresAhead, which I've shared many times on this platform. But put simply its my family travel brand.
For this set, I was using my own family to create scenes when my hubby happened to pass by my screen. He looked at the image and said, "When was that?"
Initially, I was confused because, in honesty, it didn't look real to me. But at that point it hit me that it must look more real than I think since my hubby, at first glance, mistook an AI generated image of us (my family) at the beach for a real picture.

And it still looks fake to me but its also not about me...or you creating your content. Its about the perception of our visitors who consume our content.
Disclosure of AI In Content
Lately I've noticed some options appear on different platforms. This one is on Pinterest that I noticed a couple weeks ago. Though I'm not sure how long it has actually been there, its important to disclose whether content is real or not.
My Speculations On This
At first I wondered if checking the boxes would reduce the reach of my content. But at the end of the day, I don't want my platforms to be a place of misleading information.
Though content represents certain things, it is important to disclose how it was created so that people don't get the wrong feelings about themselves and their world around them.
Not all of my content is AI generated but I do like creating content using my family. Not all of my AI generated content I use my family either. Some is completely generated with AI.
But if you're wondering if you should disclose whether your content is AI generated or not I think that it is necessary to differentiate just like how we disclose being affiliates, I think it will build more trust with our audience.
Hopefully this makes sense, lol. I'm typing it out and watching my toddler run around getting into stuff. with Mickey Mouse playing in the background. But I DIDN'T want AI to write out my thoughts here, lol, the irony 🤣😅
Anyway, let me know what your thoughts are. Should we disclose AI generated content? Do you think it is or isn't important? Lets talk about it respectfully in the comments 😎
Look forward to hearing from you,
Marlinda
