“Free your mind and the rest will follow.”

A successful marketer needs a vision to be able to succeed. No, I am not talking some pie in the, sky day dream of expensive sports cars, huge mansions and lighting cigars with $100 dollar bills. I am talking about a vision that will define where all your Internet marketing efforts will go.

This vision will allow you to focus your efforts into something more productive, and will allow you to truly succeed in Internet marketing. How will you ever know true success, if you have no solid plan on what you need to do to get there?

But before you can define your vision, you must first assume the mindset of a successful marketer. This mindset is in turn composed of different frames of thought. Here are some of the more important ones:

Above All Else, Hang On To Your Soul

For myself, this is the most important idea of all.

Teddy Roosevelt 26^th President of the United States once said “I care not what others think of what I do, but I care very much about what I think of what I do! That is character!”

Settle your mind on this fact right now. In the world of internet marketing your reputation IS your currency for doing business with the public. Perception is EVERYTHING, even if that perception is based on false information.

Inevitably, you’ll run into people that will post negative or unfair comments about products or services that you offer and the thing about the internet is that those negative comments will be floating around in cyberspace for a LONG time. The only way you have of combating this, is to drown those rare negative comments or reviews under an avalanche of opposing viewpoints.

If one person leaves a scathing “I HATE that Mark D Gardner guy! ” review but there are 20 other reviews or comments showing in the search engine results that say, “I LOVE that Mark D Gardner guy!” the good will outweigh the bad in the minds of your audience. This is what’s referred to as “social proof”.

No truly successful Internet marketer is a sham or a fraud. It’s true there are some members of the community that are wealthy as far as money is concerned, who have less than sterling practices and opinions of their customers. The question though is, are those people truly successful?

Before getting into Internet marketing I was a professional practicing in the mental health field for 18 yrs as a Registered Nurse. During that time I had more than one client with six or seven figure incomes, who were so dissatisfied and disillusioned that they had attempted to take their own lives.

They ended up in the hospital on watch to ensure they did not repeat their attempts to harm themselves. Is that success? Not to most people.

We’ve all heard it said that money doesn’t buy happiness. I’ve personally seen that truth demonstrated with my own eyes.

Like any other industry there are both good and bad players. Make up your mind now to be one of the good guys.

I hope you make BOATLOADS of money during your Internet marketing career! Just please remember to hang on to your integrity as you do so.

Being a successful Internet marketer means being successful for the long haul – you cannot be successful in the long haul however, if you start your career as a scammer, fraud or cheat. You cannot build a marketing empire on a foundation of lies and deceptive practices.

There can be some very severe penalties for those who disregard these warnings. Let me put it another way.

You think you hate your job now? How do you think you’d feel about pressing license plates in the federal prison workshop? OK? Enough said.

Your goal should always be to have two words come to mind when the buying public sees your company logo or hears your name: INTEGRITY & VALUE ! Achieve that perception in the mind of your target audience and believe me, your PayPal account will stay stuffed with sales receipts!
