How to concentrate and stay focused?

I am new to WA. I graduated college in1994 during my college years, I could study and remained focused. I am finding that learning this material is worth it however, I can't seem to stay focused, I don't have luxury of a quiet place to study. I see a lot of success stories here, my question or shall we say topic of discussion is how did all of you stay motivated and focused? I know there is a way. I'm looking forward to hearing from all of you. Thanks

Mark

Hello MarkH, I am right here with you. I am new to WA as well, but staying focused is key, setting aside time for this and training, Plus Patiences, Thanks for the post

Ya very true staying focused is key

I totally get where you're coming from. Staying focused when your environment isn’t ideal can feel almost impossible. You're definitely not alone in this, and honestly, most people who’ve succeeded in working online started in similar situations.

Here’s what helped me (and others I’ve talked to):

1. Set micro-goals.
When focus is difficult, I break tasks down into manageable chunks. Instead of saying, “I’ll study for two hours,” I say, “I’ll focus for 15 minutes on this one thing.” You’d be surprised how much you can accomplish in 15 focused minutes (a Kyle video - LOL)

2. Use what you have.
Quiet places might be hard to find, but noise-canceling headphones, ambient music, or even studying in your car (if that’s an option) can help create a little bubble of focus.

3. Get clear on your “why.”
It sounds cliché, but seriously, remind yourself why you want to work online. Is it for freedom? Income? Helping your family? That “why” becomes your anchor when motivation fades. Your bio mentions leaving your day job. Why do you want to leave your day job? Put that picture in front of you every day.

4. Expect the ups and downs.
Motivation comes and goes. That’s normal. What helps is building simple habits so you can keep going even when motivation is low. Think consistency over intensity.

5. Follow real, relatable people.
A lot of “success stories” online skip the messy parts. Try connecting with people here in WA who share the honest journey, struggles, and everything else. It’s motivating to see how others kept going despite the noise, the doubts, and the distractions.

You're already ahead of the game by asking the question and being honest about the struggle. Self-awareness is powerful. Keep going! Seek progress over perfection.

Best wishes, Mark!

Thank you for your words. Ya I did a list of why and will read it often. Ya we see success stories and don’t hear about the struggles that led to success.

Yes, Mark. Before success comes, in any endeavor, there will always be trials and struggles. That's what eventually brings success. It's a learning process that requires persistence to succeed.

Check out Napoloen Hill's "Think and Grow Rich." It was written many years ago, but I think of it as the business Bible.

Great answer Howard... I couldn't have put it better myself my friend!

This is basically what I would have said Mark... all the very best moving forward my friend! :-)

Thank you, Sir! And to you as well!

Cheers buddy!
