Focused Pace - I like to Move it Move it!
This week has been very busy for me. I took my son on a college tour, he turned 18, he got his 1st tattoo. So I'm obviously in transition with him as well as in my business. I feel off this week. I feel off not from lack of commitment but other commitments took over, I was kind of irked with myself and disappointed. Then I had to step back...
The Journey
During this college tour we drove into the mountains of Maryland ( WHO KNEW THAT THEIR REALLY WHERE MOUNTIANS IN MD!!!). These mountains where all of 5%--7% incline and the type of fog that you can see your hand in front of your face. I had never driven this type of weather or terrine before. I was so nervous and scared driving but we had a destination and it was 3 colleges that wanted to see my son in action ( he runs track).
So I was determined to pace myself and get to each school on time or before time. We made it to each school with great success and turn out the coaches where very impressed with him and so was I.
The Lesson
That night when we arrived home at 9pm. As I laid in bed I thought about those mountains and wondered how I made it through... Then I noticed that I had made it through due to my focus and patience in the face of the unknown. I had never been in those locations before and there I was driving in the steepest mountains I had ever seen in my life. I allowed others to pass me and I continued my pace I had tunnel vision I was focused I was carrying precious cargo.
This all become a lesson and metaphor for me in my business the journey not the destination built me gave me growth, gave me strength, each foggy bank, each 7% road incline was a test how fast I wanted to go and if I gave a AF about how fast everyone else was going. Let the pass you, you stay in your own lane and you will make it to YOUR destination.
You have got to have TUNNLE VISION in this business if you want to get to the top. I'm focused are you?
