Procrastinators read this NOW! Not tomorrow.
SO you are reading this probably because:- A) someone has told you that you are a procrastinator or B) you recognise this in yourself or C) you don't know what it is but you have always been meaning to find out.
I am a procrastinator! There I said it. I often find myself putting something off and have quite an extensive library of very good reasons why I cannot do some task RIGHT NOW.
Note that I use the term REASON. To the procrastinator they are always reasons. To the non-procrastinator they are EXCUSES!!!
There are always the usual reasons such as "can't be bothered right now" and "there is other stuff that I should be doing". These are what I call the delay reasons. These can be usually dealt with by putting the task on a "Got to do" list so that you can go back at a more convenient time and complete them.
There is another set of reasons, these are the SELF-DOUBT reasons.
For example (and this often happens to me) there is a task that I delay starting. To myself the best reasons are what I call the WHAT IF reasons, such as :-
What if I can't do it?
What if it goes wrong?
What if I make a mess of it?
What if people think I am an idiot?
What if I have to start all over again?
To the procrastinator these are all very valid but to the non-procrastinator they are very easily answered with "How will you know if you don't try?". Believe me NO procrastinator will have a reasonable answer for that.
There is another set of reasons which can be determined as MORE HARMFUL. Now you probably ask how can a reason for procrastination be harmful? Well if you put something off because you are afraid of facing something then that can be harmful to yourself and your intentions in life. The true procrastinator will know that (s)he has the task to complete and may wake up in the night thinking about it. If that is the case it is starting to cause anxiety. Anxiety IS harmful. You can lose sleep, stop eating properly, affect relationships. None of these are going to do you any good. Examples of this could be:-
Doing your Tax return.
Writing a report.
Facing a personal problem.
Attending the Doctors rooms.
Having a discussion with the boss.
Starting an Internet business. (This can be beneficial to you and harmful to your future life if you want to do it but procrastinate)
All of these take a bit of courage to get through (some more than others) but especially if you know that they MUST be done then procrastination is the bigger enemy.
What prompted me to write this blog? I have purchased many different "schemes" to make money on line. Many started well but I soon dropped out for many reasons. The biggest being that I had no support and so I became the victim of PROCRASTINATION.
Starting with Wealthy Affiliates has given me such a boost of self-esteem that I know it will work for me. Other systems lacked support, WA has so much that it has become hard to procrastinate and I am getting on with the job.
Kyle and Carson you have (and are still) served us well with this great product. Thank you for stopping me being the PROCRASTINATOR.

Sometimes the anxiety and fear of a blank page when I sit down to write a blog is so strong I put it off. I've decided that every time I write a blog post I am another day closer to making money online and it is helping to keep my anxieties at bay...sort of
This WAS me to a tee but not any more. Like you, I'm changing, rapidly. I've just gone premium and I've got a very good feeling about this venture. The WA community is amazing and so supportive. The two boys are incredible and work very hard to keep us lot motivated. Good blog and I hope many procrastinators change their attitude of mind. Thanks Chessie. Great quote from Robert K. I knew of that quote but not sure where I read it so I didn't want to quote it without reference. Many thanks again.
I found it on the activity dashboard, and I like it. Great blog for the first time, keep up the good work. U can be very success here as I can see. Don't procrastinate, keep going :)
I think I wrote it more to prove to myself that I can "Get on with it". Thanks for the response.

Hi Ken - I really like this and I'll tell you another thing about procrastinators - we are often perfectionists. If we don't think we are going to be able to do something 'perfectly' then we keep putting it off through fear - one of the characteristics of a procrastinator that you mentioned.
Yep - I'm one - and I'm glad to say that having the friendly competition here has been a great help to me. I keep seeing my Rank number coming down, my followers going up and it gives me a boost to write another page
Cheers
