1000 articles in 1000 days
Hey guys,
So I have just read Traffic Explosion 3.0 about how you can explode your traffic by writing by the mass. (https://s3.amazonaws.com/wealthyaffiliate/download...
I have decided to put a 3 year plan in place. Basically, I am going to write an SEO article a day for the next three years. These articles are going to be of high quality will be between 500-1000 words in length. It will eventually be spread across 3 different websites (just 1 for now though.
I'm currently on track after writing 7 articles in the past week. I have got to keep my mind focused on the job and avoid any distractions.

Also, on the topic of outsourcing. I personally do not want to do this because I want full control over my sites. It means that I will have to work harder, but I think it is worth it to say that all the work I have done is my own.
I am also worried that people will easily be able to tell the difference between my material and the writers material. Do you think that I am just being a control freak? Do you think that outsourcing is a viable option or do you agree with my current viewpoint?
Wishing you all the success,
Mark

Nice challenge.
Image how much your writing skills will improve also once you complete this Goal.
Good luck on achieving it.
Sam.
Thanks for the encouragement!
I feel like I have sharpened my skills already and I have only written 8 articles!
What a challenge you have created for yourself. It will be very inspirational to see you accomplish it. I would say stay true your vision and see how far you can go. If along the way you get fatigue you can consider outsourcing.
Hi Tyrell,
It certainly is a big challenge, but I enjoy big challenges! I am certain that if I am self disciplined and work hard to continuously put out the best content possible, it will give me a decent chance of success.
All the best!
I agree with IMc, you could always edit the articles to match your style.
I think your plan is great if you can do it! Its always good to put content out. As for outsourcing, many well established bloggers outsource content because I think it gets to a point where they need to in order to maintain the site/live their lives etc.. For whatever reason they just do, and I think the key is to make the outsourced articles you're own after you get them.
Wish you the best!
Outsourcing is possible, just edit each article to put it in your style.
This will be of interest to you. . . http://www.russlobo.com/adsense-niche-site/ A guy who wrote 1000 posts in a month for an adsense authority site. Well worth reading.
Great idea editing the article to suit my style!
Jeez 1000 articles in a month?!?! Did that guy even sleep? haha. I'll give it a read now.
I get a lot of freelance work from people who either don't have the time or the expertise to write for themselves. A good writer will always take time to get to know their client as well as their 'voice' and their chosen demographic. If it's done properly, people would not be able to tell the difference :)
It may depend on the niche. I do not think a freelance writer is able to write about mountaineering and equipment as I do. Those who know anything about climbing will see the difference. You have to sweat and to suffer a lot before you are able to say which pack is great and provide best ventilation, or which boots will offer the best ankle support. Just my thinking.
And that's when a good freelancer will work closely with their client. Clients need to give relevant information to the person they outsource to - I don't have to have gone through labor to know that it's painful! Just my opinion :)
Thanks for the advice Jude.
An example of where I might explore outsourcing in the future (not quite yet) is the Book Review section on my site. This is because I am a full time student and will soon have a part-time job and I do not have time to read a lot and then write a detailed review.
This section will be quite different to the other sections on my site so I'm not too bothered if it seems a touch different in writing style. I will still want to write 100% of the product reviews, Stuff to Avoid advice, Fitness advice and Blog posts.
Do you think this is a good plan?
There is no relevant information to pass Jude. You must feel it on your back to know if it takes you off the balance on a steep scramble, and you will have to walk 100 kilometers to break a pair of boots to realize what it means breaking-in boots and how many blisters they may make even if top brand.
Well we are all entitled to our opinion and that's what makes this community an interesting and diverse one. I have many long-term clients who get the results they want from my writing and that's why they keep on hiring me :)
I am not talking about you Jude, know nothing about your writing so how could I.
See my very first sentence in the discussion. It is not the matter of opinion. In some (rare) cases it is about life. I had a leaking tent at 3000 meters altitude and had to search for a shelter in storm after midnight.
I have had 300 in 300 days and know it is tough. Do not make too big plans.
I would never let others write for me, just my thinking.
Hi Jovo,
Have you had much success by sticking to this strategy? I noticed that a formula that Kyle always uses is;
Number of Posts x 5 viewers per day x 30 = Amount of traffic per month.
In your experience, is this accurate?
All the best!
From my own experience this formula does not work and I do not wish to argue with Kyle or anybody about this. As I said, this is my experience but it may work for others.
About success, how do you define it? I have 91% of my posts in the top 3 pages in Google, half of my posts are on the top page in Google. My traffic is terrible.
One extra: I doubt you will have high quality posts of 500 words as you write above. They may rank (I have top ranked post of 360 words), but this does not make them high quality. High quality post is not written with a prescribed number of words, it just happen to be high quality and you will know this only when you press 'publish' button and say to yourself 'I did a great job here'. This is a result of inspiration and knowledge.
I would agree with your sentiment on the right number of words for a post. I have written a couple where I feel it is an excellent post only to have a look and find it is 600 words (or so).
Other times I have written 1300 words and gone, too much rambling, gone in a pruned it back to 1100 and found it to be good.
Each to their own I say but I do use Kyle's comments as a guide.
Steve, If your daily traffic is 5 times the number of your posts, you are doing great. I am not.
Well that part of Kyle's guidelines is a massive result and yes you would be doing good. A good target to strive for, damn hard to get there!
I'd love to have 5 times the number of my posts as traffic, but like you I don't.
I like your plan, I heard a saying "Do not limit your challenges but challenge your limits". I wish you all the best, stay focus and true to your passion.
Ah right, that was because I linked the PDF haha.
Here it is; Traffic Explosion 3.0 - The New Rules to Internet Marketing
Outsourcing could help get the 1000 done but you will need to screen the writer before hiring. It depends on what cash you want to spend to achieve your goals.
At the minute, I do not want to hire a freelancer, but my viewpoint may be a little different after writing 100 articles!
I am on a very tight budget at the minute as I am a University Student, but if my site starts to turn a profit, I may invest that money back into the site to get more traffic.
I am a big fan of long term goals over short term profit. This is also why I am also going to keep Ads off my site.
That's the plan anyways!
