Getting Accurate Results from the Google Keyword Planner
With the recent changes to Googles Keyword Planner, a lot of our research (even through some paid tools) has become difficult. Now you seemingly need an active adwords campaign to get search engine results, rather than just a range (eg. 1k-10k) which is now displayed.
I don't know why this is - perhaps Google has seen the huge number of paid tools that are using their search behind the scenes, or it could be another reason altogether.
However, there is another way of getting that information from the KeyWord planner, that we can do on an individual basis.
This is my affiliate site for WA - but you can ignore any links etc. In the post, it's just the video which is important.

I hope it helps, and if you've any questions, please let me know.
All the best, Mark

I particularly dislike using adwords and I explained on the site why. The odds of an individual coming to WA with an account with a Swiss bank or the Cayman Islands is quite small, yet you give the appearance that anybody could just invest that $ and get the $ back.
I saw no disclaimers made either...
Hi - are you referring to me entering £300 in the Adwords area?
If so, think you've perhaps misunderstood what's happening in the video.
The £300 is so that you can "see" all of the impressions you could get "IF" you were to pay the most to secure them with AdWords.
If you limit the value in that box to say £0.10 then you will only see impression results if you were only to bid that much on your keywords. It would filter out impressions that a casual browser may see when they search in Google.
I am in no way suggesting anyone has money to spend on AdWords.
My method is a way of getting the information from Google Keyword Planner, that was available freely until recently.
At no point did I purchase any keywords, or pay for any ads... so no disclaimer required - I'm not making any claims or guarantees, just sharing some knowledge :)
All the best, Mark
