Who’s had a good cry recently? My best friend has always loved a good cry. She’ll turn into a total wailing, self-pitying, sobbing wreck when things get on top of her, and she always feels better once she’s had that big cry.
It seems that crying releases toxins from our bodies, so it’s good for us to have a good wail from time to time. Crying also helps you let out bottled up emotions. Think about babies… they cry as soon as they are hungry or upset, and they just let it all out in a screaming, crying fit. Babies react emotionally, doing just what feels right at the time. As we grow up, we are taught to control our emotions so we only cry at something really sad, like loss of a loved one or a pet, and our tears help us release the pain. So, next time you’re feeling down, have a darned good cry! Then imagine yourself sitting on the bench here, watching the sunset and marveling at the beauty of nature. Things can’t be so bad after all.
