Hi everyone,

Just wanted to post something that happened to me a few days ago.

I had to take my car to the dealer to get the regular maintenance service and I was told I could get a ride back to pick up my car via a Lyft service car. So, it was noon and I thought, hey let me just call now and use my lunch hour break to pick up my car. That way my boss won't use that against me... and those of you who are still employees know how that goes.

So, the lady comes by and as she arrives she says "Oops, your ride just got cancelled!" I was like, I literally just got in, (in my mind of course) and this was really not such a good week for me. So, she looks at me and says "don't worry, I'll take you, it's on my way home anyways". So, off we go.

I noticed she had an accent so I immediately started talking Spanish, (I'm from Puerto Rico). That way we can both get comfy, I mean she was actually driving me for free, the least I could do was talk. I started blabbing about how expensive the life was here in SoCal (Southern California) vs other parts of the country. I explained that the company I work for had been relocating me every 8 months to a different state and although California is great, the bottom line is, that it's super expensive. I mean, I could get a house in Florida or Ohio for $175K but in Orange County for that amount I would be living at a trailer park. It's absurd. So she started telling me about all these great places where life was actually cheaper but I'd be close to an hour away from the office.

And then suddenly something happened.

Somehow she shifted the conversation and I guess she noticed there was something more to my dislike and my negativity. So she talked about toxic people around us and how that tends to shape the way we see things. She said, "you need to get away from the toxicity." I immediately gasped and said yes, there is someone very toxic in my life and that's... my boss. Just thinking about her gives me anxiety, she makes me not want to wake up in the mornings. She is like Kermit the frog freaking out (take a look at the Kermit Freaks Out video on You Tube) That is my boss, completely exhausting. (LOL)

Anyways, she started telling me that the answer wasn't to look for another job or getting relocated again. The answer was to find my own way.

YES, I had met the Lyft Angel or better yet YODA's reincarnation. I had been thinking whether this, Wealthy Affiliate, was really worth it. Putting all these hours after work, working on weekends through the lessons and creating the website. And, suddenly without asking or mentioning anything about WA this lady simply tells me, "It's time to stop working for the dreams of others, it's time you start working towards your own dreams."

And there it was. I had done yoga, meditated, prayed and suddenly this lady who was driving me for free and who later tells me she never drives through Costa Mesa gave me the sign I had been waiting for.

As tears rolled down my cheeks I told her "I really needed this." I mean, I am alone here in the US because my husband works in PR and this was just like the universe aligned and gave me exactly what I needed to hear. I thought to myself "this is the time. I am on the right path."

I wanted to share her words with everyone because it is time we start working and moving towards our dreams. I think everyone here is, but we also sometimes doubt and grow impatient and look for something that is quick and easy but good things take time. Michael Phelps didn't become the best swimmer in history by swimming just a few laps. So, I'm committed all the way!

And, I'm thankful I found the WA community, it really does make a difference. Kudos to Kyle and Carson who have used the pay it forward approach throughout.
