Hello there,

I know that this subject had been touched before, I also found the question in the same form or another.

I just had been chatting with Amazon support service representative on 3rd of May, '18.

Below I will share with you the answers which I got for my questions.

1. As an affiliate, am I allowed to use the product pictures from Amazon into my website?

Amazon: You are only able to use the images that are created with the tools we provide within Amazon Associates. You can use the Product Linking feature, Native Shopping Ads, or The Amazon Site Stripe. Videos, product images, and reviews written/created outside of Amazon.com, including professional reviewers, authors, publishers and customers, are copyrighted by others. We display them on our site by permission from those third parties. Amazon.com doesn't have the legal right to give with you permission to access, use, or display them.

If with you wish to use Amazon.com's product images on your website, with you may obtain them by creating Product Links on Associates Central or through Product Advertising API. Customer product reviews are also available through Product Advertising API. Your use of product images and reviews obtained through Product Advertising API is limited by the terms of the Associates Program IP License Product Advertising API License Agreement, which is available here:https://affiliate-program.amazon.com/help/operating/policies...

However, to use the API, with you will need to be approved for the Associates Program. The easiest way to make an image would be the Amazon Site Stripe.

The Site Stripe feature allows with you to:

-- build links to any page on Amazon.com

-- add quick links to Facebook and Twitter

-- create a custom Native Shopping Ad Card

-- quick access to your Reports in Associates Central

It also has handy short-cuts to some other useful Associates pages.

2. What is this approving process?

Amazon: You have to refer 3 sales within 180 days of submitting your application. Once with you refer your third sale, with you application will be reviewed by an Account Specialist.

3. Am I allowed to use screenshots of the products and paste them in my website?

Amazon: No, with you wouldn't be able to do that. You could take your own pictures of the product and put it on your website

The site stripe will give with you pretty much all the pictures that are on Amazon.com

The Site Stripe should be visible to with you at the top of all Amazon.com pages when with you visit the site. You can control whether with you see the Stripe from the Settings button on the Stripe or by logging in to Associate Central and then going to your Account Settings. The Options menu allows with you to control the features that with you see on the Site Stripe, and it allows with you to turn the display of the Stripe off or on.

I hope this helps.

Best,

Maria

Maria, I have just registered to be an Amazon Affiliate. Therefore no sales. I have a new blog published ready to receive Amazon product. Do I do native ad to get instant access to Amazon picture although I don’t have any social media on board yet? Or do I apply for stripe card, whatever that is? The easiest way I Was going to use, was to screenshot the product from the authors website. What do I do? So confusing for me. Thanks. AJ

You can use the text and image code or just the image code from Amazon. That should provide both the image and act as an affiliate link to the product.

Oh great. I thought you couldn’t use the image from Amazon? Are you saying the text (link) automatically picks up the image and this is Ok? Cheers AJ

The image link or image and text link will provide an image.

Thank you.. Cheers AJ

Happy to help.

Thank you for this informative post... As I want to begin working on an affiliate website for Amazon I have some questions that I appreciated if you can answer... In order to be registered as an affiliate for Amazon do we have to have much content on our website first to be approved or can we start with pretty much a blank website and build on it as it is much much easier to create content once you are allowed to access Amazon material... and the second question is about the approving process... do you have to be approved first in order to access Amazon site strip or is this approving process is done after your initial 180 days just to evaluate your performance as an affiliate? thanks in advance for your answers

You can apply even if your website is not very heavy in content. The account is approved after 180 days. If you do not have earnings during the 180 days, you have to reapply and take all the process from the beginning.
You can use Site Stripe on an instant, not need to wait 180 days.
Hope it clarifies. Let me know.

Thanks for your reply... so even if you have a basic outline on your page with just one or two initial posts you can still apply right?

Yes, I did so. I have had couple of posts and applied.

Hi, with the site stripe, are you only able to get the primary picture and that is all?

I cannot seem to access any other pictures.

What is the native shopping ad cart?

As I have use it yet, please use the following link for more details: https://affiliate-program.amazon.com/resource-center/introducing-card-format-for-native-shopping-ads-on-sitestripe
