The Russians Attacked! So I gave them the Boot!
So I have been a little freaked out this week as some one or something from a city in Russia called Samara has been "visiting" my site like 49 times over the last couple of weeks. Showed up in analytics as only one user "darodar.com" just visiting my site and for a minute or two then dropping off. Whatever they're doing they ain't buying boots that's for sure! Not to mention my "Bounce Rate" is going through the roof! So I look and look to see if anyone else has been having the same trouble, and sure enough they are. Thanks to Apache1 for putting this training together.
Basically it teaches you how to stop a pesky visitor from ruining your stats in analytics by employing a filter. I THINK, and I HOPE it may also enable you to filter unwanted visitors away from your site altogether by domain, ip address, even country. I chose country. But I need to verify that so if anyone knows please chime in!
I'm sure there's lots of great folks in Russia, but until I know more about what I'm doing they will have to wait to see warmdryboots.com!

thank you for the information I have visitors from Smamara as well, and very often , be careful with them they not only attack websites but countries as well, like my country :) I will bookmark the web to study how to avoid such visitors
