Perseverance

I came across an interesting quote a few weeks back and felt it applicable to my life. It was at a time when nothing made a lot of sense at work. As a matter of fact, it still makes no sense. I made the mistake of persevering and sharing my ultimate career goal. Two co-workers, in senior positions sat me down and said, "well that's impossible, you'll never go there in your career." More educated in the field, I smiled as I typically do with the most negative and confrontational and politely carried on with the conversation.

This got me thinking. There are hundreds of millions who've persevered despite initial impressions of a task being impossible. People accomplish the impossible everyday. if everything thing was impossible, most of us would be rocking back and forth with a favourite blanket in a corner. We'd buy our underwear at K-Mart, drive our dad's car on Sunday, and watch Jeopardy at 5:00 PM. Think of recent advancements in science and medicine, to see that the impossible can be possible.

The most important point to take away from this:

"Don't let small minds convince you that your dreams are too big." - unknown. In other words, cross those weak minded people off of your next party invitation list.
