Hello fellow wealthy affiliates! I first discovered WA two weeks ago, and to my pleasant surprise I have enjoyed every moment of it. I am a web developer which is why it still amazes me that I am only now discovering this wonderful community of internet entrepreneurs. I would like to give a quick review of my time here so far.

After signing up I got a flood of friend requests and welcome letters from inspirational members -which was quite refreshing! I could tell a few of them were pre-written, and kind of generic. But that was fine because after reviewing how WA works, there isn't any way to automate sending messages, follows, and profile posts. So they had to have checked out my profile and send it from there. These are things I look for in a community that determine if its worth investing time into.

I run a few blogs and wanted to test out siterubix to see if it could manage scheduled posts, rss feeds, subscriptions & even member signups.

This is what I found:

Since I have highly specific niche blogs I use their rss feeds to feed to other blogs like news blogs & special interest groups. Scheduling posts from rss feeds are nearly impossible to accomplish effectively with siterubix.

The short reason is because of siterubix security protocols, many features that rely on api access are not allowed. Like posting via email, or using ifttt.

Yes this was a disappointment to me because I would have much rather hosted all my blogs on siterubix. But! its still ok. There are many benefits to using siterubix, I just had to identify them for use with specific projects.

A few siterubix benefits that are beneficial to me.

  • SEO optimization is second to none! Nofollow on links being optional, as opposed to other free blogging platforms like tumblr is great! This allows blogs to be discovered by search engines much better.
  • Security is amazing, by disabling things like post by email, and api access -security is much more stable.
  • Thousands of themes to choose from! I spent several days going through all the best themes and most are full featured and responsive. I love this because I don't have to spend much time creating a responsive mobile version. If you are a web developer you will probably agree that this is the most annoying tedious part of any project.

✦ My first siterubix website!

About a year ago I came up with a way fun way to promote businesses, brands and or profiles. Its called uberbing, don't ask me what the name means -this is the first name that popped in my head. I built the website on socialengine cloud platform in about 2 weeks. I started to market it, but unfortunately I got too busy with clients to maintain it. So instead I created an instagram account called "instastation" that functions very similar. I wanted to at least test the market and see if people liked it. Instastation took off, it was getting way more engagement on each post than other ig profiles with more followers.

While trying to figure out how to best use siterubix with my projects -I remembered uberbing! I started building it immediately, but along the way I had to contact support to enable editing of the theme html. I must say WA support is impressive to say the least! Within 30 minutes of submitting a support ticket they responded and took care of my request. I don't know how they do it but this is probably my favorite feature of WA. Knowing that I can contact support at anytime, is very comforting.

✦ Site review please?

I would much appreciate it if you can check out uberbing (link on my WA profile) and tell me your first impressions and or any constructive criticism. Is uberbing easy to understand? Would you participate, if not -why?

Ok, thats all for now folks!

Feel free to message me anytime for any questions on anything web development or marketing ☻

-Paul

We meet again.....

OK, first off, some of what you said, went a little over my head.....OK, WAAAY over my head; I don't know what rss feeds are and I'm hoping I don't need to know that right now....

Second, what impresses me about you Paul, is that you're so open to receive honest feedback. In my mind, someone who is a web developer...well, I'll just say it....I'm somewhat intimidated. My sister is a web developer, self taught no less.....I'm intimidated. You seem to be very humble, approachable, and have a willingness to serve others. So it's no wonder you "fit" right into this community.

Third, in terms of receiving feedback, your best bet would be to submit that through Site Rubix, I believe iZED touched on that already.

Finally, I appreciate the thoroughness of your blog/post.

Looking forward to "hearing" more from you!

Veronica

Oh wow! Thanks for the compliment, its simple really, I just follow the golden rule as much as possible :-)

No need to feel intimidated its just a learned skill like anything else. If you desire to learn you will, but you don't necessarily have to. You have two options you can learn everything you need to run your business yourself, or you can only focus on what you are most passionate about -then get other pros like your sis to handle the rest.

I'm sorry its hard to tell what people know these days. Like in my mind if you understand the basics of how html, css & javascript work in a website then you must understand what rss feeds are. Hehehe, but like I was saying earlier you don't need to understand how everything works to build a successful website.

Ok real quick RSS stands for Really Short Syndication. An analogy for how it works with a blog: RSS is like the dashboard in your car showing you the stats of your vehicle at a glance, but in this case only your blog posts. You don't get all the information pertaining to the function of your vehicle only the most important things.

The same as with your website. So your website has tons of pages and tons of content fully featured with banners, links and other functionality -right?

Your RSS feed catalogs only the posts to your websites' blog and puts it in a universal format that 'RSS Readers' can access and style accordingly.

Check out feedly.com signup then add your siterubix blog (http://YOURDOMAINNAME.com/feed) as a content source and see what happens...

You the man Paul!!!

I appreciate the layman's analogy, lol. Actually, it makes sense to me.

I've already accepted the fact that there's a LOT that I may never know or fully understand, about building a business online. But I've also accepted the fact that, even with my limited understanding and knowledge, I'll be able to build a successful business, which is really cool!

I believe it was Henry Ford that said something about he may not know a lot, but he can find someone who knows the answers to what he doesn't know! I got that right here at WA, so I'm in great hands!

Good strategy for site testing Mr..!

Thanks! I have visions it could be much more than that :-)

Hi!
First of all, your honest WA review as a seasoned web developer is rather comforting :)
As for your website, some might see you posting a link here as a spam! There's a whole section at WA dedicated to this: Website Feedback (in SiteManager), and ironically enough it's a pay-it-forward service (make two feedbacks to gain 1). I said ironicaly, because at first glance, your website seems to be just that: pay-it-forward service, like mine and I like yours sort of thing.
Anyway, best of luck!

Hey! Thanks for the heads up about the link. I added the link to my profile instead... I wonder, is that allowed?

Thank you much for the valuable feedback on uberbing, I haven't heard about 'pay it forward' I will have to check that out :-)

On another note, I checked out your profile. Quiet a skill you have! So do you promote your services using WA resources? If you don't mind me asking, is writing your full time gig, and how do you get customers?

You’re welcome!
Read this 2 blogs:
Kyle on spam: Then this one about links: You’re using the pay-it-forward formula in your new website without knowing about it, and that means you’re a logical thinker, so give yourself a little pat on the back, you deserve it :)

As for me, I’ve been a freelance writer long before I get to WA. I wrote for many authority websites and came to the conclusion that I’d better writing for myself. I still write for clients though to make a living, because my two websites aren’t what I want them to be. I’m struggling with the tech part of the equation. Other struggle with content :)

Thanks for the info, so I checked out the pay-it-forward thing. Another great resource for the WA community! I just reviewed my first two websites then submitted uberbing :-) I will be using pay-it-forward a lot from now on.

And yes I would consider myself a logical thinker hehe, its really the only way I can be in both the programming & design worlds at once.

Also for your blog, let me know how I can help with the tech side and i'll see what I can do.

Thank you so much, I'll send you a Private Message if that's OK.

Yeah sure!
