Some Guys Have All The Luck

I was sitting in church and really concentrating on what was happening. The Lesson Study was going great and a few persons were participating. I was not one of the participants. I decided to be quiet and circumspect. My best option was to keep my mouth closed for the duration of the service.

I was enjoying some baked chicken the day before when to my dismay I broke my denture. All four teeth in the front came off. I never the less decided that I could go wherever I want because it only shows when I speak and since I did not have a speaking engagement I had nothing to worry about.

I was sitting there meditating when just behind me I noticed a man sitting in the middle of the bench. It was not long after a well dressed women came to sit beside him. She then got up and gave the man a hug that lasted so long it made me wonder what was happening.

The woman then sat on one end of the bench and before long another woman went to sit on the opposite end. She also held on to the man's neck and gave him a proper long lasting hug. I then knew why he sat in the middle of the bench.

It is a good thing when we can greet our friends with a pleasant smile or even a hug. It does not pay to be unpleasant to anyone. One should not have to make a special effort to be polite, it should be a way of life for us. There are times you have to let someone know that he has stepped out of line. Even then we can be nice about it.

It is frustrating when you try to be kind to someone who does not appreciate it. It certainly does not mean that we should be unkind to everyone else. We just have to be ourselves and don't allow anyone to steal our joy.
