Do we have Tribes?

So I'm a mum of three small kids - so my life is a gong show. Honestly, between the long nights of waking up and working all day, sometime I am not really sure if I am coming or going or standing still. So naturally my niche sits in the kids world!

I only started WA a few weeks ago, but I have noticed there are a few other mums and people who have chosen to do kids themed niches. While I enjoy commenting on everyone websites and seeing all the different ideas people have - I find that when I see a website that reflects my current situation the comments come more naturally and I can provide more detailed responses.

I was thinking that it would be great to work with some others who sit in the same niche as me. It would be great if there was an easy way to find people in your niche - like you could have a niche badge or something. I'd love to partner up with some of you lovely people to do guest posts and just trade ideas for content. It would also be great for social media as we would likely have content that would work for each others followers. Maybe instead of a niche it could be a collaboration badge for general topics Kids, money, Healthy living stuff like that.

Is there such a thing?? Is there groups and I am just not there yet in the training? Other than all the small heads in my profile pic is there a way to find my tribe on here? I am following people as I find them, but I find the news feed is so large its hard to keep up!

Note - for those who don't spend there day chasing kids and/ or talking about them all day. I already consider you part of the wider family and will still be commenting and checking out all the fun things adults get to talk about when they are not covered in vomit.

If anyone reads this and is into the kids/ mum/ crafting niche, send me a PM. I'd be keen to set up a group pintrest board or something. Note - the post image was a really bad attempt to look childish and find all your mums... hopefully it worked.

I think you idea of having a niche badge is a great idea - the trouble is many people here have multiple sites in different niches.

What might be more practical is a member search that allows you to search for members who have declared their niches to be in certain areas. Many members are quite private about the niches that they're involved with though.

I'm a stay-at-home dad for most of the week (my wife is home at weekends) so I've toyed with the idea of a kid-related niche but I'm not funny enough to write a dad blog. :)

Yes maybe a search would be more practical.

You should totally think about the kids niche! There is such a market for dad advice. Due to my work my husband has been the primary carer at various times and I totally think he would have read a site dedicated to dads. When dads are home they face all the same challenges as women but they are totally different at the same time. I have not come across many dad blogs, but I guess I'm not really the demographic. If you do start it up, be sure to let me know!

Sorry it’s the middle of the night in Australia obviously I’m wake. I think a great dad blog would be something like “while you were at work...” and it could target days so sent at home and don’t actually understand all the stuff going on with their kids. What they need to think about when - like top items they are going to have to buy for the baby and when to enrol in school and how/ gift ideas by age group.... sort of a cheat sheet for dads. Okay I’ll stop peppering you about the website you don’t have yet :)
