Attaching My Face To My Affiliate Website
I don't know about you, but something doesn't feel right about attaching my personality to my affiliate website. I'd much rather hide behind the cloak of corporate obscurity. I totally understand how attaching your name and personality adds credibility, but this action is not me. Does that make any sense?
I like my privacy. I don't put my entire life on display. I don't Tweet or Instagram about my every move of the day (while many people do).
My dad always said "the less people know about you, the better." He is referring to the general public when he says "people", not to those in your inner circle. The basic idea is that the less people know, the fewer things they have that they can somehow twist and use against you. And in the online world where all one needs to do is Google your name, being selective about what you put online becomes that much more important.
Take the affiliate website exercise that I'm going through. Once it's indexed, if someone Googles me, they'll likely come across it. What message will it send when they do? Will this reduce my credibility as a business owner in my community if someone sees that my energy is spent away from my business? Sure, I can justify this to anyone in a vis-a-vis conversation, but that's not always going to be possible. People will rarely ask about something like this - they will more often simply form an opinion in their mind and that's it.
Having said that, I bit the bullet and put my name and picture on the About page of the new affiliate website: http://organicskincareformen.com/about. But if you pay attention, I didn't go all in. I don't mention my last name, don't give my actual email, don't link to my social media, and in the picture I'm further out, wearing sunglasses, and am looking away.
What about you? Can you relate to my concerns? Or do they sound crazy to you? In either case, I'd like to hear from you via comments below.
Until next time...

Hello my friend, I am afraid I disagree with you for the following reasons
The internet is full of spammers and scamers and your job is to establish trust, the more you are able to be seen on social media the better, people want to see who you are, without a face on your web page on every page your conversion rates will drop by 50% so I would put you picture on the side bar if I were you
Without a picture people think you have something to hide, and so don't trust your website, if your going to get into internet marketing the futures lies in social media, if you stay away from this, your internet marketing career will be short and not very profitable.
You must understand that marketers think differently, its not what you want, its what they want, and they want to be on social media and they want to see you on their to
The social media revolution is here and its here to stay, if businesses don't adapt they die
I would have a re - think about this if I were you, people buy from people not corporations
