One Month In
Hi Friends,
One month into my time at Wealthy Affiliate and I have to say I'm having a blast!
To have been able to get a fully functioning and quite attractive website up and running in a month is quite amazing, when you consider I knew nothing about blogging, Wordpress or anything like this when I started.
The concept I've developed has gone from an idea in my head, to a few notes on paper, to a real website in the space of 4 weeks: and that blows me away!
So what's next?
Well, I've just completed Course 2 so am itching to get stuck into Course 3 and those lovely monetization options!
In between writing, tweaking, fiddling seeing what works best, looking for pictures etc as well of course.
I cant wait to get my first "organic" comments from outside the WA community, so I know people can find my little site on Google.
Maybe it will help someone sooner than I think!
OK back to work now, thanks to everyone within the WA community who has supported me so far, wishing you all the best!
- Luke

Congratulations Luke! I'm almost at my one month mark as well and the progress I've made has been phenomenal! I too knew nothing about WordPress or designing a website and was sure it'd take me months to get up to speed and running. Two weeks later however I've got an up and running site with lengthy content! Kyle and Carson have really set up an ingenious source for everything you could possibly want to know about building and monetizing your own website! If you send me a link to your website I'd love to give you feedback on it :)
Hi Jessica,
Congratulations to you too! the resource Kyle and Carson have built is amazing isn't it?
If you'd like to check out my site its called getmentallystrong.com, its about my experiences with anxiety and how I recovered without medication.
There's also going to be a lot of stuff about mental strength, positive mindset, hopefully something to help a lot of people!
I'm happy to return the favor if you'd like any feedback on your work :-)
All the best,
- Luke
If you could look at my website and give me feedback I'd love that :)

Wow, I just read through each of your pages and you've got a lot of really good content that thousands of people could relate to. You're very good at describing exactly what you went through, the effect it had on you and everyone in your family. You're very lucky to have a wife willing to go through all of that with you and help you on your road to recovery. The only suggestion I had for your website is that a couple pages don't allow the users to leave comments at the bottom. On one of them you ask for comments below but there is no comment box. The two pages I noticed it on was the Reviews page and the Start Here page
Thanks for your kind words Jessica - I hope people like my site, over time I think it was get less anxiety focused and more on personal development but we'll see where it goes.
Its not really a "niche" site in the traditional sense but more a jumping off point for me to write about whatever I want haha!
Whether that is a smart move time will tell I suppose!
Thanks for taking the time to read it that means a lot :-)
Hi Jessica,
Your site looks great a lot of very good info there.
One thing I thought of it maybe split your girdle review page up into a number of different pages?
I'm not sure what's best for SEO as I haven't got to that part of the training yet so I could be totally wrong. I just think one review per page is how I've seen some of the experiences marketers do it....
I think you will do very well though. Keep posting great content and you'll rank in no time!

Thank you so much for looking through it and for your comments. I'll look into best practices for product reviews :) I appreciate you stopping by!
A niche can be whatever we want it to be :) And I know a lot of people will relate to what you're discussing on your site. I really look forward to reading more about your breakthrough and where you are now

Isn't that a wonderful feeling? I have had a similar 'wow' moment with how far I have come in the past few weeks. I am moving a lot slower than you - in my first month I didn't even have my website started, and I still don't have it completely up and running yet.
Then again, the niche I am trying out is a little bit different from the traditional. I see that you understand that, and I think I will check out your website as soon as I have time.
I have struggled with anxiety too (still do) but I refuse to use medication to correct something that I do not believe needs to be corrected. I know where my anxiety comes from (I'm a highly sensitive introvert) and I would rather learn to embrace myself as I am and improve my confidence than have some doctor tell me my brain is messed up and put me on meds...
Hey Bee,
I think a different niche is a good thing, to be honest I don't really consider mine a 'niche' at all, anxiety and mental strength is the general theme but the product I am selling on my site is me!
That may sound narcissistic, but what I mean is I hope through the experiences I had with mental illness I can help others. And I will grow as a person too and of course make my living.
I have a grand vision of what my site will become so i figure instead of starting with an easier niche like men's shaving products I might as well go for it.
This is why I gave it the bold title "Get Mentally Strong" and not www.helpwithyouranxiety.com or something like that.
I'm very interested to see what you have in mind, I'm fascinated with anything outside the square. A smart man once wrote "success is impractical" and I believe that. If you do what everyone else is doing you end up in a practical, boring (soul-destroying) 9 - 5 office job as I have for the last 15 years!!
I'm an introvert too despite my slightly over the top online personality. For instance we had an end of year work party today, I stayed for about 15 minutes and then left after hardly speaking to anyone - it just isn't my scene.
If you ever want to chat about anxiety let me know. You will get it under control without medication, accepting who you are is the first and most important step :-)
I wish you every success in this fun journey we're on, thanks for reading and keep in touch.

I agree with that completely! We never know where we're headed, but I think so many people here have proven that if we approach business and life as 'I want to find a way to help people the best way that I can' things will start to fall into place on their own. I think you are doing that, and success will find you. I hope the same will happen for me.
Thanks for being so open with your journey, I am sure you will help a lot of people. I will be keeping an eye on you! Haha. See you around, Luke!
