What's in a name?

I'm feeling pretty good about my progress so far. I have my WA affiliate site up and running and I have several pages of articles I've written. I've even started adding shorter posts to the homepage and using that as a way to get updates out about changes I'm making. I can't believe I actually have a website, I don't know why I thought it was so hard!

I need to get some more images to make things a little bit more interesting, but I'm not sure what to use and I feel like some of what I've done on the Wealthy affiliate page is kind of cheesy. I haven't settled on anything I want to change it to, I just know that I want something different.

I'd really like to branch out and have a website that is more about my personal interests once I've figured the whole traffic thing out. I've been trying to come up with a name in the meantime so that once I am ready I can start. I really struggle with naming things, it has to be perfect. I want it to say something about me, and also clever enough that it will draw people in. It's a good thing this website isn't a baby, the poor thing would grow up without a name!

Sounds like you are doing fine and congrats. You will likely change niches a few times so it will come together for you. Keep moving forward.

You sound like me many days :) Trying to multi-task when in the creative process I find~again and again~that when my fingers take over and I just close off my thoughts some of the best stuff gets written. I had some inspiration for one of my websites earlier that came unbidden but I think will help it a lot.

I guess what I'm saying is just relax and let things flow. Don't try to pick the Name, it is already there and when the time is right, will come to You.

Rock on!

I have found that to be the truth also. I know it's out there floating around, it just has to come to me. Rock on man! \m/

Your website(s) should always be considered a work-in-progress. ALWAYS. It should constantly evolve as the web evolves. That's the beauty of the web and what I love so much about this business, and the web itself.

The goal of websites should never be to try to create the perfect website. If you publish something that you are not happy with, change it. And then if you're not happy with that change, then change it again. Just remember that you can always change things later, so you want to try and not go overboard with this.

Content matters, not design of websites. Sure, there are exceptions to this. But overall, get your content engine rolling. If you produce good, quality content, this will be more valuable in the long run than how good a website looks.

As for branching out, if you really want to, and have the time to do it, then do it! You can at any point create a new website, a new concept, etc. Just don't over extend.

Best Regards,
Jim

That's what I love about the internet, always a work in progress!
