Lessons Learned From A Happy Boneless Chicken Place
From time to time, when the hunger hits me, I will pay a visit to a fast food restaurant that specializes in chicken. For the purpose of this article I will call it The Happy Boneless Chicken Place. Maybe you can figure out the real name for yourself.
One of the franchised locations is not too far from my house. This site, in particular, is always super busy at lunch time. The drive-thru line is usally wrapped around and out to the street. The parking lot is full.
On a recent visit I made a few observations that can be beneficial to ANY business.
Reach out to your customer to find out what they want.
Since this place is so busy and the lines are long they make sure to have plenty of people on hand to take your order. Their staff will meet you at your car while in line. As a result, the line doesn't take long at all.
Make the process simple and easy.
This chain has a smart phone app where you can order, pay and get rewards. Easy Peasy Chicken Squeasy!! You can order from the app, go to a designated parking space and they will bring your meal out to you.
When you order in the drive thru line you can pay them with a card since that have mobile scanners on hand. Very efficient!
Give them what they want.
After you have ordered, paid and been handed your receipt you make it to the window where your order is handed to you from a fresh, hot and ready to be consumed. All of this happened in around 5 minutes from start to finish.
I got what I wanted in a super-efficient manner. My hunger was satisfied. Throughout the process I was met with friendly, smiling faces at every turn. Needless to say I will be back!
As a matter of fact, I may just go there today! ;-)

Give them what they want! Great post and now I am hungry. One right across from the library.
And the $5 off for doing a 2 minute survey rocks.
Spicy chicken addicted.

Great post. Reach out and learn what your customer needs are and then give them it. Perfect!
By the way, love that place.
