Let’s Play A Game: You Are Watching Kyle Play

One of the biggest audiences for advertisers is children. You are given the task to reach this audience in a new way. You start by playing with your children and their friends in order to start a focus group.

What toys would you have the children play with?

What games would you have the children choose from?

What rules would you tell the children to obey?

What limitations would you impose?

As you watch the children a young boy named Kyle is sitting alone in a corner playing by himself.

What is going through your mind and what do you want to say to Kyle in the corner?

What would you say to him to interact with the group?

What toys would you bring to him while he sat in the corner?

What rules would you make clear to Kyle in the corner?

What limitations would you impose on Kyle?

Would you focus on the other children playing or on Kyle alone in the room?

These questions are an exercise to enhance your experience with your niche market.

Respond with experiences or additional questions you have found relating to your new market.

This is a chance to form a focus group of your peers for ideas to communicate with your audience.

They're playing with all different types of and colors of the Legos. They are building all kinds of different things.
Each child is given a basket of Legos and asked to sit on the carpet so they can get more information.
The rules are
No leaving the room
No throwing of the Legos
You can build by yourself or with others
Now get up and have Fun!!!
I would go over to Kyle with a basket of Legos to see if he would like to either play with me or just play with the Legos by himself. I would TRY to encourage him to join the group when he is ready.

This could be like Animal Farm!

Yes, Mike.

Very much so.

It will be interesting to see what people come up with.
