Is Your Minset Keeping You Poor?
In the first grade classroom that is my domain, I am the ultimate ruler. Everybody plays by my rules and, to the six year olds at least, I am all knowing and have all the answers. In the world outside Room 6, things are a little bit different. I don't have ALL the answers but I have been around the block a few times. I have lived in many different places, studied at Universities in 4 countries in 3 different languages, been a Regional Vice President for a multi million dollar corporation, raised my own children and other people's children, settled on a wonderful life as a teacher, mentor and friend. I have fun and make a decent living in my spare time helping strangers I have never met over the internet. And I have learned some things. So here's what I have learned as it pertains maybe to you and your goals -
I know this much is true. If you have been working at this a while and are not making the money you want and deserve to be making, it might be your mindset, not your niche or your keywords that are holding you back. I repeat. Your mindset.
Be honest and ask yourself. Do you come from a mindset of abundance and gratitude and a confidence that if you work from the right place with the right mindset the resources and opportunities you need will present themselves to you? Or have you bought into the collective misconception that was probably inadvertently fed to you your whole upbringing that business operates from a place of scarcity and competition?
For example. Do you believe that the internet pie, the weight loss market, the "insert balnk here" is only so big and you can only get your piece by taking a piece away from someone else? If you do, go buy PPC Bully or one of the other programs that set you up to spy and "steal" other people's successful PPC campaigns. Good luck to you! It might make you some fast cash, but will never create real wealth for you.
When you go check on how many articles are published for a certain keyword on eZines and you find the most popular article that has 80,000 views links straight to a product webpage via an affiliate link (cheating, folks!) do you go play eZine police and file a complaint, or do you simply put your energy into more positive pursuits such as writing another article yourself that DOES play by the rules? The first action comes from a scarcity mindset and will keep you poor. The latter, from an abundance mindset.
In order to be successful in any enterprise, you must come from an abundance mindset. The internet is vast. Energy in the form of money circulates around it at a billion bits per second. It is rapidly expanding every day. Internet marketing is not a pyramid scheme, with a rushed time frame to get in there before everyone else does. There is an infinite amount of wealth available for everyone.
If you truly focus on delivering value, on giving more in real value than you take in real cash, there is no reason that with time, effort and creative thinking you can't surpass even your wildest financial dreams.
Dream big! Focus on how you can be of value to other people. Creativity and inspiration will follow, you will be open to recognizing the right people and opportunities (they're probably already right in front of you) and the financial part will fall into place.
This is probably not the first time you have heard this idea. I think I heard it many times in different forms before it rang true for me and proved to be true. The one resource that many people claim opened their mind to this idea is Wallace Wattle's "The Science of Growing Rich". It'll take you about an hour to read. Whether or not you believe you have the power to "manifest", go find it and downlaod it and make it a goal to look at it at some point this week. Maybe it'll speak to you, maybe it won't. I guarantee it'll get you closer to your goals or give you more to contemplate than that reun of Desperate Housewives or CSI I reread it myself this morning and I decided to risk ridicule and ire of some (yep, got the words Jesus and "Formless Substance" in it – shocking, I know!) for the better good of helping others by recommending it here.
FYI – "The Science of Getting Rich" is in the public domain in the United States as it was published before Jan. 1, 1923. There are lots of places you can get it for free. In order to copyright a copy most people add a preface and then call it theirs (well, the copy with the preface is theirs). What I'm saying is there's no need to go buy it. You can find a free copy here. This is in no way an affilate link and don't let the fact that it's on The Secret's website put you off :)
In any event, thanks for reading :) And to state the obvious, EVERYONE who takes the time to help out other people with their forum questions comes from an abundance mentality..and for you all, I am truly grateful.
Wishing you all a happy and prosperous new year!

Very important that we all realize this. I can't hear it enough. Thank you very much. Beautiful message to start the New Year. I wish you a great 2011 too!
Just want to say The Science of Getting Rich is extremely inspirational. The ideas expressed are very important. I'm a student of Abraham, so this relates well. Everyone should read it. Thank you for bringing it to my attention.
