The concept is cool.
- Create a pin using an affiliate link.
- Get your pin in front of pinterest users (follower, feed etc.)
- Others pin YOUR pin and now it's available to their followers.
- The more clicks and pins, the more oppotunity to earn and you simply did one action - created the pin!

Lori,
All the Social Media is a wonderful way to promote your
website agreed, but as Mary stated below use caution
you never know when you are going to get your fingers
slapped with affiliate links.

While I'm newer to the Pinterest platform, I am following best practices. And I agree that anything can change and that is why I diversify my practices. I always aim to comply, and sometimes we may be outside of compliance without realizing.
Affiliate links from Pins may not be allowed, at least on some of the Group boards. Not sure how Pinterest looks at it.
Their approach to allow or not allow this may change over time.
Be careful.

I have an affiliate website dedicated to an outdoor clothing manufacturer. I have a Pinterest board for the same manufacturer. I add pins via this website which has affiliate links to Amazon. I click through the links, then add the pins from the Amazon items themselves. The pins retain my affiliate information, so any clickthrough order pays commission. I’ve tested it by ordering myself and the purchase shows up in my Amazon Affiliate portal. 😉
YES! Love it!
