I made a very unintelligent and presumptuous mistake today. I purchased a domain thinking i could change the name later. I called it thatsoodles.com.
My question, is there
That sounds like a fun name if you can make it work, go with it. What do you think about Google and Yahoo? Kind of sounded strange when they were new too.
You can have oodles and oodles of fun with a domain like that but it doesn't sound like you chose a niche yet when you bought it. You can park it for later use if you have funds to buy another more suited to what you choose to write about and maybe use it for a personal blog about the oodles and oodles of money you make with your niche site(s).
Did i waste money by making a presumptious domain purchas?

Hi
Purchase of domain is an irreversible process. This happens sometimes. When I was just starting out, I purchased 4 domains thinking that I would build many websites.
But I just concentrated on 2 and never touched the other two and they got expired after a year.
What is your website about?
There may definitely be something behind choosing this name.
The general conception is that domain name must reflect what your site is all about but I do not 100% agree with this. For that matter just think of Google, Yahoo or Java.
In case you are not happy with your selection, just shortlist 4 to 5 good names, easy to remember and check if they are available.
In the meanwhile, you can start building your website on a free domain provided with your premium membership. Get satisfied with the look and feel and then you can transfer it to your final chosen domain.
Regards
Arun
