Establishing a Vision
The image suits the process perfectly. A multitude of letters, and with a multitude of letters there are endless possibilities. Endless possibilities are good but you only need one word, so what do you do? You sort through the letters and pick the letters that create the word you're looking for. Sound familiar?
If you have no idea where you want your life to be, how do you expect to find the determination and the focus needed to get there. We all want to be able to make money online, but why? Is it really so that you could work from anywhere in the world, or is it so you can brag to your other people that you don't have to "go to work"? There is a difference between the two and it manifests itself in your approach to, and the success within, the process.
A Look at the Difference
Let's say I "believe" I want to make money online so I can work from anywhere in the world. Okay, I get online and start the process. As I go through the steps I think more and more about being in another country. Then (maybe because I'm female) I start thinking about the places I could be. Next thing you know I'm thinking about whether I even want to go somewhere else and calculating how long it'll take me to get there, the cost (both physically and financially). I then decide I don't want to go anywhere else because I don't even like new places and now I've wasted $$ trying to create a dream I didn't even have.
Now let's look at it from the angle that I just want to be able to brag to other people. When I begin the process of working online I simultaneously think of what other people are going to say once I've become successful. I get on the grind and complete each step, using others doubts as motivation and (unbeknownst to me) my own determination to push forward. There may have been times when I ran off the road, but I KNEW that I wanted to be able to brag. So I focused ALL of my energy into what I KNEW I wanted and was able to achieve success.
Determine YOUR Vision
None of this is easy, but you'll never succeed if you aren't trying to find YOUR why? The easy and lazy, thing to do is have someone give you a vision. DIG into yourself and figure out what YOUR vision is and why financial freedom can make it a reality for YOU. Don't DEPEND on others to tell you YOUR why? Only YOU know what it will take to bring YOUR vision to fruition. Yes, there are guides, that can help you along the way, but they won't be much help if you aren't truthful about where you ARE and where you want to BE.

Let your first step be discovering YOUR vision and uncovering YOUR why.

Hi Lila,
That ending quote never ceases to inspire, and it has been the agent of so many journies.
We can have so many start-stop fail experiences when we are at step 50 or even 100 or even step 1000, the watershed is when we start to develop that vision.
It is what truly gives us the oxygen that we need to focus on our why and what, it can be so empowering when we find our purpose.
Especially when it comes to creating a successful online presence.
I have to agree with you in that initial phase we do need to be honest with our selves.
Best wishes and thank you for sharing your insights.
Alex
Thank you for the feedback Alex! I totally agree on the start-stop fail. One step at a time with the end in mind.
A basic formula but one that seems to work very well.
