Starting over - a brand new beginning
So, I was in WA a couple of years ago and made the mistake of getting distracted and quitting. I continued on with my work as a psych nurse, which overall I still enjoy. I'm lucky enough to work pretty independently with my boss and have a lot of flexibility.
But, as always, my main passion in my life is my dogs. I have thought many times of getting active in WA agian and this seemed the right time to do so.
Over the past couple of years my life has more and more revolved around dogs, particularly rescue dogs. My husband and I even took a very long road trip last year from Indianapolis all the way down to Mission, TX to adopt the little girl in the above photo.
My sweet Lilly was rescued from being a street dog down in Mission and we were given the blessing of adopting her!
My main focus growing forward is to be able, through my website, to find ways to bring attention to other dogs that need homes and to help them to thrive once they are adopted.
My site, helpingpetsthrive.com right now is new so I just have a few items of content. My goal is to add an "adoptable pet" page to feature shelter dogs. Especially dogs in The Rio Grande Valley of TX.
Through my adoption of Lilly I gained a great friend it the founder of her rescue group, Forgotten Friends, and that particular area of the US for some reason has a huge population of street dogs, people seem to just dump their dogs when they get tired of them and it becomes an overwhelming job of the rescues to that area to respond to.

Great mission. Lillydog is so cute! I had a hearing ear dog who was Blue Heeler named Blue. I miss him!, my daughter sold him because he started nipping after neighbors tried trapping him. And she had to go away to school. So, you remended me of his cute fuzzy butt. He was the sweetest. I hate that people just dump poor poopsiedoodles, it is mean and disgusting.
I just wanted to let you know also, the Wealthy Affiliate platform sometimes freezes for links in your blog here. I would be careful just so you can avoid that. There have been 3 Nurse Becca Bans. Don't worry I wasn't trying to do anything bad. The 3rd time was my fault for being a brat.
I hope your site goes the good kind of viral.
Sincerely,
Nurse Becca

I have been trying to get my daughters involved in training the dogs in our house. Them little things are terrorists. Can not leave food down, trash cans get torn up, yada yada. They got them from a homeless person so I know they have a goofie background.
I had a pit bull years ago, my room mate and I. We left her with his brother as we went to work remotely for 3 months. She got lose and I had to come and bail her out of doggie jail. She was a mess after that. That big ol love ball changed over that. before she didnt even know she was a dog.
We had someone help us retrain her and she became a big ol love ball after that.
Where could I dirrect my teenager to so as to help her learn these skills.
Lol. I always dog proof my home when I have to leave. Garbage can is put out of site in the garage, any items they may chew up, like shoes, are picked up and out of sight, bedroom doors are closed so they can't destroy anything in there. I always stay close by my dogs during feeding time so they don't get in any trouble. I never leave food down after they are done eating. They have their own routine and spots they eat their food in and it works out great for them.
