Why Wealthy Affiliate's Affiliate Program Is Pretty Crazy!
So, I've stepped away a bit, not just from WA, but from everything with my face on it.
I'm actually quite shy and didn't want to be so in front of the camera anymore. I wanted to try other things and other business models that I've been interested in learning more about.
While I haven't promoted WA actively for 14 months, guess how much I still earned all this time?
5 DIGITS!From all the other sources of income I had, this stream of income from Wealthy Affiliate was by far longest lasting and still earned me a full time income.
I think that's incredible.
I haven't posted on my website and YouTube channel since Oct/2020, and I'm still able to make money doing nothing.
After all I've been through this past 14 months, I'm ready to get back to it. I've built a team that can work with me on a new faceless YouTube channel and thinking of coming back on camera too to keep my personal channel going again.
Affiliate marketing is by far still my favorite business model.
It's definitely true after trying the other business models and gotten medicore results.
Why I love affiliate marketing still is this:
I DON'T HAVE TO DEAL WITH CUSTOMERS / SHIPPING SH*T / TECHNICAL CRAP.
It's a simple concept and all we have to do as affliates in any affiiate program is drive traffic.
Although it is still a lot of work to build something that drives traffic, but I think it's worth your time and investment because digital assets LAST a long time on the internet and they can build passive income streams for you.
I've definitely proved it with my hiatus.
Therefore, a big lesson as to which type of affiliate programs to choose is RECURRING commissions.
WIthout recurring commissions, your streams of income will die pretty quickly if you stopped feeding the machine (aka writing on your blog or creating videos for YT).
So if you think affiliate marketing is hard, think again because the other business models require you to have customers to deal with, creating in another space you're not comfortable in, and it may cost you a whole lot more in many ways.
AND....
at the end of the day, ALL other business models also require one thing: traffic!
So you're still needing to have a way to get traffic with all the other stuff you have to do with the other business models.
Not affiliate marketing, you just need to drive traffic and you don't need to deal with customers, fulfillment, or anything else.
You're here at WA and it's a great place to be as well as learning so many things here.

Affiliate marketing is great, I have an offline business and an online business, I know which business is easier! Admittedly, it takes time to get started in affiliate marketing but at the same time, it's a cheap business to get started. I know the difference in cost between my offline business and online business, it's huge!

Sustainable and predictable revenue that is less likely to be affected by the expected ups and downs of economies, world events, and our personal lives.

I know I only had a taste of what this business can really be and that's partly why I stepped away because of all the roadblocks that hit me while seeing this small success. I never hit the goals I wanted to with this affiliate program so I'm not done. I know there's still a lot of work for me to do to get back to where I want to be and finally reach the goals I want to hit.
