Should I spend time on the fun or the serious blog?

The serious blog deals with a serious problem. The fun one deals with fun problems to have. I've already started on the serious blog, the first. Should I abandon it and come back when I'd done my fun one?

The serious blog as a niche is more straighforward, has fewer pics, fewer resource. It means I will be creating my own pics and it would take more effort and take longer to do.

The fun one well, it would have more resouces and I'm more creative on it, more motivated to deal with the topics on it. However, it is a niche that has a few sub-niches and a single blog could apply to two out of 3 sub-niches and I'm still cracking my head how to structure all this. Whether is will be a single blog with tabs to consolidate sub-niche articles or separate websites.

Time is money, no? My gut feeling is to go with the easier route first and monetize it

I need advice from the WA folks.

I think that the best decision must come from you...

Nods.

Go with the fun one as that will probably keep you more engaged, especially in the beginning.

Gotcha. Or I could make the serious topic fun. He he

I would say the fun one first, especially as a newbie. Get it up and running with content, monetize it,etc. Use it as your learning site as you go through the lessons.
Then start on the serious one.
Most important go through the lessons, take your time, and have fun every time no matter what site.
Once you start on the serious one dont forget to go back to the fun site though and keep it updated and fresh.
All about balance,passion,and time

Thanks so much! I'll work on it.

Frank has a great idea. I have a fun niche and after a year I'm thinking about another one. More like a business service site.

Thanks! I'll be sure to make it a fun type of blog for the serious topic then. I don't think just because it's a serious topic, it has got to be a drag.

I worked on two different sites while training, one serious, one fun about one of my passions. I worked on both simultaneously, but the fun one, the site whose material needed no research, took most of my time. The fun site is the one I use during training, applying each lesson to that site. The more serious site I posted to only occasionally. Since finishing the training, I'm now spending more time on the the serious site than the fun site.

Who says you can't work and have fun at the same time? Lol

That's a good strategy! Thanks, Frank!

Very good question Lisa.
I would commit to the “fun” site if that’s where you feel your passion lies. The other one will still be there if you decide to work on it later. Or you may not ever become interested enough in it to continue in which case you can just not renew and let it die out.
There are always options but I feel like at this point trying to keep building up 2 sites would be much too time consuming and neither would get your best work.
Good luck with this decision!

I'm taking notes, Kyle. Thanks!

Hi Lissun
You need to do the one which you can complete quickly which will be excellent training and a big Boost to Carry on working .. Then tackle the second with Focused Energy you gained from accomplishing you first blog
Plus you feel the fun Post will be easier to Monetise an added incentive .
All the Best
David

Thanks, David. I'm taking notes.

go with the one you enjoy most (the fun one) as you will have the motivation to continue working on it more

Thanks, Rowls. I'll see how the votes go.
