Is there an option to pause your membership or do you have to cancel?
You can't pause premium membership and go back to free, if that's what you're asking. You can, of course, cancel your membership and then rejoin as a free member.

To cancel your membership, click on your profile pic, then Account Settings. Scroll down to Subscription Settings, then the Membership tab. Click on the button Stop Billing and cancel membership.
