most cafes and restaurants now have free wifi. however that doesn't mean go in there camp out for hours and not spend money. That's very bad form and for those building their online business thru their niche this is something that will come back to bite you later.

to go into an establishment and never spend money only to hog their wifi is unbelievably rude. this will create enormous resentment towards you amongst the people that work there and has the potential to create a very bad image for your business. wifi costs money for the owner to maintain and when somebody who isn't a paying customer comes in and camps out for hours on a daily basis using the wifi that's taking away from the employees salaries of the people who work there and raises the price for paying customers. A surefire way to make the establishment not like you and could be a potential nail in the coffin for your business.

and people don't always tell you when you do something they don't like. they could even approach you in a friendly manner and strike up a conversation with you learning about your business. what theyre not going to tell you is that they can circulate negative feedback about your site. they don't know anything about it and don't really care. they just already have their mind made up about you as someone they don't want to do business with. remember... for every one person you sour towards you they can sour up to twenty others. it's a statistically proven fact and it adds up.

this makes me think of a story I heard about the late George Harrison who had a notorious habit of not tipping waitresses. he approached one he didn't like and asked if she knew who he was. she said yes he was the a***** who never tipped. that's not the image I want to convey to others.

set aside 15-20$ a week once you find a place with good wifi. coffee and toast or bagel. when you come in and regularly spend money it sets the stage for positive relationships with the people who work there and a real interest in you and what you're doing. to get people interested they have to trust you. remember the customer purchase cycle. and they won't if they don't like you. remember it's the little things that count.
