Hey Linden,

I know it’s frustrating to see tens of thousands of users you did not create. Those are almost certainly bot registrations (spam). Here’s how to clean them up and stop it from happening again:

(1) Install “Bulk Delete” from Plugins > Add New.

(2) Go to Bulk WP > Bulk Delete Users.

(3) Choose Role = Subscriber (or the role those spam accounts have).

(4) Click “Bulk Delete Now.”

This happened because your site likely has “Anyone can register” enabled (Settings > General). You will want to update this, so it doesn't happen moving forward.

So make sure you disable open registration: Uncheck “Anyone can register” in Settings > General.

That will clean your user list and keep things secure going forward. Let me know if you need any more help.

Hey Kyle, So glad to be back in the land of the living!! Long story!
Thanks so much for this tip! I'll act straight away.
Hope to be back in full form very soon!

I also hope you and yours are well and happy.

Hi there,

I've tried so many times to delete 1 superfluous theme from the site - either Twenty Twenty-five or Twenty Twenty-Four - it really doesn't matter which.

Do you mean to deactivate a theme and activate another in its place?
If you do then realise that when you activate a theme, unlike plugins, the old theme is automatically deactivated by activation of the replacement.
;-)

Hi Charley.

Would you mind telling us the steps you took to delete the theme?

To delete a theme, go to Appearance - Themes.

Hover your cursor to the theme you want to delete - Click Theme Details. At the bottom, you'll see the Delete link. Click on it and click OK.

Cannot delete superfluous theme?
