Survival for the future

This morning on WA I read a blog by vickic3 about working our businesses/producing content, for our future growth etc, which made me think - this could be directed at me without trying. I found it so interesting that it kind of stuck in my mind for sometime. Thinking about it whilst I was preparing my breakfast, then sitting at the table to consume, tomato on toast & coffee, nothing flash, I noticed a local newspaper thats' front page displayed a photo and headline 'Godwits fly home'.
It grabbed my attention so that I started reading the story and to my amazement it was basically saying the same kinds of things that vickic3s blog had been saying, in short, - doing today what is needed to survive for the future.
In other words, taking action now will secure continued growth for the future.
'Godwits fly home' - (This flight is from Alaska to New Zealand). These are young bar-tailed birds that touched down after flying 12000km non stop from Alaska. They need to do this for the survival of their breed. They are the only shorebirds to travel such a distance. They cannot fish or rest on the sea, or eat, or drink during their 8-day flight, and they arrive at an esturary with the loss of half their body weight.
Satellite tracking data has tracked their non-stop flight south across the central Pacific Ocean. recording their speed at 60km per hour.
They return in May to their breeding grounds in Alaska. This includes a stopover in the Yellow Sea and North Korea so they arrive in good condition to begin breeding.
Wake up and walk

The story really took me (shook more like it) into thinking .... wow if a tiny little bird called a Godwit can fly so far without stopping for the continuation of its breed, how is it that many of us here at WA (and in our other businesses) are not able to walk from the kitchen to our desktop or laptop and write a post, even if only weekly, for our future survival, growth and income online?
Why I'm wondering? I've heard of 'time management' but somehow I'm thinking this needs to be more like 'me/we management'. Would you not agree?
The future is ours to be successful. If we are not, it is our fault; if we do not achieve our goals it is our fault; if we get fat, it is our fault; if we chose not to write a post on our website and our online income does not increase, it is our fault.
We can blame no other.
If the godwits do not make this incredibly long journey, that is the end of their breed. All most of us need to do is walk from one room to another.
I'm thinking I need to take this onboard and make my flight across the oceans with more input, more content and more postings on my website and in my WA business.
If it were not for Kyle and Carson who lead the way and provide the opportunity for us, we would not be able to make this journey.
This is our business.
Thanks for reading, I trust at least one has benefitted from this blog. I'm pleased I've put fingers to the keyboard this afternoon.
cheers, Linda
PS: I congratulate those of you who make the effort each and every day already.
