Are you Flying the Friendly Skies?
You know the way some people are brought up or try to live life is by being like a Flight Attendant. This includes a lot of people that are in charge. I am talking about coaches, teachers, and even parents. They try and make everything perfect so that you are comfortable in things you have to do every day. They make sure you get up on time. They make sure you get your breakfast. They make sure you have clean clothes to wear. They make sure you get on the bus on time. They do everything short of going to the bathroom for you.
Newsflash!!! Everything is not going to turn perfect no matter how much you plan. That is ok. Sometimes the best laid out plans do not work and you have to figure out another way. It does not mean that you failed or that you have to quit. It means that you have to become creative and come up with what I call “Plan B”.Just because it did not go “as planned” does not mean that you failed. Believe it or not, you are going to appreciate what you are doing even more when you accomplish it. That test that you actually had to study more for, the lunch that you had to prepare yourself, the extra work you had to train to win the game that YOU were playing in, will provide you with a little bit more of a little thing called “PRIDE”.
There is nothing like “PRIDE” to make you walk a little taller, feel better about yourself, and boost your confidence. With the feeling you get from pride, it will motivate you to do a little extra the next time around. It will give you the courage to take on the next difficult task that you come upon. It will even make people think they can depend on you a little bit more because with a little bit more of PRIDE, comes maturity. So, the next time you are complaining about having to do something, how hard it is to accomplish, or how no one is pointing out what a great job you are doing, just remember…
