Mammoth 6,300 word blog post completed! A good or bad thing?
Is big necessarily better? When it comes to blog posts that is...
I just completed a pretty humungous blog post at over 6,300 words on the basis that big is probably better.
It's a bit of an experiment to be honest. I have over 30 posts on my blog and have started to gain some traction with Google. As well as the post being helpful to my target audience, I also wanted to see what the effect of throwing such a big chunk at Google would be.
I did the SEO (I use Yoast) and all that good stuff and I've deliberately trageted the Google snippet as well.
Does anyone have a view on this? Is it over the top? Will my site crash and burn? Should I have written 3 x 2,000 words instead?
The thing is, the subject matter could justify that number of words...
What do you think?
Cheers,
Les

CONTENT IS KING
I believe that Google will rank you better if your content is
quality AND quantity
That's what I thought too, and it's pretty much an evergreen post, so let's see :)
