Word Count Online

We are taught here at WA the amount of words we write has an impact on our website and ranking. When I first started to write content, I struggled to get above 500 words.

As I continued the training and created post, it got easier and easier. I can now write 1500 to 2000 words, if not more, with no problem. My word count online, blew me away this morning.

I Am Not A Writer-Or Am I

I can honestly say that I still don't look at myself as a writer, and to be honest, I hate writing. I went in to website content to see which post I wanted to work on and I noticed my word count.

It had six digits. I hadn't really noticed how many words I had written in quite some time. I have written 100,460 words.

I don't think that is a lot. I honestly feel that I should have written more than that. I am in the super Wealthy Affiliate challenge group and we were to write 12 post each month.

Each post is to have at least 1000 words and I have been here a little over a year. That comes to around 144,000.

I was away for about a month and I struggled with creating content a few times. My plan is to make up for where I lacked.

Like I said, I am not a writer and I have to force myself to write sometimes. It has gotten easier and it can for you as well.

Kyle talks about "not being a writer" in the training. I remember the feeling I had when I first learned about having to write content consistently.

I was very overwhelmed. I know I am not the only one who has experienced that. Many think that writing your about me, is the easy one.

It really isn't for some of us. When you are completely new to this type of business and don't like writing, it can be very overwhelming.

Negative To Positive

Taking something negative and turning it into something positive can work with anything that we might come across.

Writing content is certainly one of them. Another thing that Kyle stated in the training, was that we should write like we are talking to a friend.

We all talk to others, right? If you write what you want to say to them, or write what you think they need to know, then it does make it easier.

Research was another "oh no" moment for me. Like I said, I was completely new this type of business.

But I knew I came here in search of finding success, and I wasn't just going to quit. I had found legitimate training and support.

So thanks to this awesome community answering all of my questions, I was able to look at it completely different.

We research things all the time, and just don't realize it. The only thing is, we aren't just looking for information that will help us, but what will help others. Our audience.

Isn't that what your purpose is? To help others? When I started to look at the positive side of doing research and writing content, it became much easier.

I am only promoting WA at this time, so I write a lot of reviews about online opportunities and online jobs.

If I get in a slump when I am looking for a review to create, or I don't want to do the research and create a post, how am I going to help others?

If I am not helping others, then how will my site be successful? If my site isn't successful, then how could I expect to become successful?

My goal has not changed since I first joined. I want to help other parents and empty nesters out there, that aren't able to work outside of their home to know they CAN work from home.

I remind myself constantly, that I am doing this for them. Not just for myself. No matter what your niche is, you are still here to help others.

Take your negative and turn it into positive. Don't look at it like a chore. Look at it like a purpose. Your purpose, the purpose to help others.

This Is Your Shot Take It

No one said this would be easy. It doesn't mean you need to make it harder on yourself. Whenever you are having a hard time or feel lost and confused, we will help you.

Just reach out to us, the community. We have had others help us and we still do from time to time.

You had a purpose when you decided to become a member. Don't lose sight of that purpose or your goal.

There are plenty of members who never even gave this a true go at it, but you did. There was a reason for that.

You believed in WA, you believed in your purpose and most importantly, you believed in yourself.

Other than financial hardship, there really is no reason why you can't do what you came here to do.

It isn't a race and there is not set time limit on when you will see the results you want to see. It is up to you to achieve them though. Don't give up. You got this.

I hope this will help someone who may be lacking confidence or struggling.

++++++Remember, you got this.++++++

Wishing you the best in all you do

Thanks for sharing this post! Yes, i was like that too..
When i started, i was having a hard time finding my words for my article, but as you get used to it.. and thinking what do i want to relay to my readers.. Eventually, those words are just coming in..

Absolutely Hanna. They always say that it gets easier as you go. I don't think time and repetition are what makes it easier here as it is finding your way to make it easier.

Loving what we are doing definitely helps. Like you said, knowing what we want to say to our readers helps us to create the words that will benefit them. And that is what we are here to do : )

Thank you very much for sharing with us. I truly do appreciate it.

Thanks Lee Ann for a very inspirational post. Like you I sometimes get into a slump or tell myself I don't know what to write about, but when I start to do my research and make some notes, I suddenly find I just want to share my thoughts with others.
Congratulations on your word count, may it continue.
Debs

Debs, exactly! We have the same issue. Once we get that topic of discussion though, look out : )

I am glad to hear that you are able to overcome it. If you need any encouragement when you find yourself in a slump, I am here. We can help each other through it.

Thank you for sharing with us. I really appreciate you.

Inspiring post. By helping others we are helping ourselves.

I must admit some days I don't feel like writing. On those days I work on training, links, social media, etc...

Thank you Mickey. I really appreciate you sharing with us. First, at least you are still being productive and that is always a good thing.

Second, if you need or want help on those days you are having trouble, I would love to help you.

I know the struggles of coming up with what to write about and then creating the content.

If I can help et me know : )

Thanks Lee Ann. I appreciate you.

Thank you so much for this post!! I am in a slump that I thought I came out of but apparently I didn't. Reading this reminded me why I started and made me question my recent re-slacking I let myself slip into. Time to light the fire again!!
Stacie

Stacie, thank you very much for sharing. You are never alone, no matter what you are facing.

It is easy to find ourselves in a slump and sometimes harder to get out of it.

If you need any help getting that "fire" going again, let me know. I will do my best to light it back up : )

I know you can do this, we can do this.

Hi Lee Ann,
First I would like to thank you so much, for inspiring something that is beneficial to the public. Have a blessed and have a nice day.

Bless you and thank you my friend. It was my pleasure because it is something that I have struggled with myself.

When I noticed my word count, it really inspired me to let others know what I have over come and what helps me to get through.

I love to help others whenever possible😊

You're right, Lee Ann! We are here to help others through our online businesses. Writing is a huge part of that too. Isn't it amazing how 1200 words can sound like a lot, then when we start writing about something we're passionate about, we blow right past that number with no problem. Like you said, doing the research helps in writing the post, b/c that research will help us provide better solutions to the problems our clients need solved.

Glad to have you back here! :)
Colleen

Aww. Thank you Angel. It's great to be back.

You said it perfectly. I can see why Kyle suggest that we choose a niche that we are passionate about.

If not, we better be passionate about helping our audience. Without a passion, I sure as heck couldn't do it.

We will chat soon my friend.

A very encouraging post. It sounds like you have come a long way in figuring out your goal and working toward it. You are helping others, but you are also helping yourself. Turning negative to positive is a vital art. You should be proud of yourself for your progress...keep going!

I truly appreciate your kind words. I hope that others will find this encouraging as well.

We all know that we will have certain things we will struggle with at some point.

Knowing that others have the same struggles and hearing what helps them get through, may be just what we need to help us get through as well.

I have definitely come a long way since joining a year ago. I still have a long way to go, but I know I will get to where I need to be.

Members like yourself help keep me motivated to get it done.

This is very encouraging . I know that writing is my worst week point. Glad to hear that it can be overcome. Thanks.

You are definitely not alone my friend. You can also try to find something that will get you excited.

Maybe the product/ service itself, what it can do gir others or even the mere fact that your post will save someone a lot of grief or from losing money.

The is always a way to make it easier on yourself. Sometimes it is just finding what works for you.

I hope you find relief. If not let me know and I will gladly try to come up with other ways to help you create content more consistently.
