Would you have done the same?
Today my daughter went for her sleepover at my parent's, so I thought I would go on that date a friend of mine had been pestering me about. She wanted to arrange everything... the location, time, food, drinks and even my outfit, my answer for the first time was no!
I called the guy, arranged the time, location where he will collect me, booked a table at one of my favorite restaurants and picked an outfit that was subtle sexy and suited my style. The date went well, the food was good, the wine sweet and the man handsome. And then he asked me to go for a drink with him at the local busy bar as there was a live band featuring tonight.
So what do you think I did as a single mum that rarely gets a night out?...
I went home, put the kettle on, opened up my laptop and continued writing the next article I'm just about to publish.

I think you made the right decision, you have other priorities in life to cover first. Affording your daughter's upbringing goes to the top.
Well, I am not a single mum nor is anyone pounding on my door for a date. (My wife would probably answer the door, anyway.), but the part about coming home, logging in and getting to work feels about right.
