what are longtail keywords?
Here's my understanding of long tail key words so far.
As an example, my niche site is based on drawing and learning to draw, pencil sketching and the like. Let say a broad keyword I could start with is "Learn to Draw" to find QSR etc.
By using methods like Jaaxy, Google Instant, and the Alphabet soup method, I could narrow that broad keyword to a more narrow keyword.
This could lead to "Learning to Draw Online" "Learning to Draw Free", "Learning to Draw for children" or ""Learning to Draw free ebooks for beginners"
The original Learning to Draw keyword has been expanded on by narrowing the keyword becoming a longtail keyword in the process.
That's the basic run down.
These longtail keywords can help to discover new "sub" niches within your niche that you may not have found otherwise. I like to try to find a keyword about drawing and expand on it within a certain topic to see where it ends up. That broad start could lead to a post where the longtail keywords can become subheadings within the post because you have narrowed them down topically.
I hope that helps :)

I am almost done the Affiliate bootcamp, this is part of lesson 9, and I was wondering today....then what? I have been building my foundation and enjoying the things that I have be
Classes are never over, you will always have something to learn here. Search in the top box after to click on dashboard - optimize your site, research and add more content, add Google Analytics plug in to give you a report on your site a month from now (Kyle has an excellent tutorial on GA as does Jay with magistudios on SERP.
Things don't happen overnight, but persistence, longevity and content will get you there. Think about your target groups, people are #1, gaining their trust, serving their needs.
Believe and you will achieve. Hope I have been of help. I have felt as you do, out of my element and now beginning to put things together and able to write about it. Just keep asking and you will get more answers. ^_~2138/6/17
Yes it is all coming together a little at a time and I step back as to not become overwhelmed by all the info. I am enjoying the new experience and am grateful for all the help and support from people like yourself. I have put your suggestions on paper and will implement asap. Thanks for the advice and I will look forward to more of it in the future.
Have a great day.
Bootcamp up until now is the basics of how you make money online. There are other, more detailed things you can do to expand your presence in your niche, but really, all you need to do is do MORE of what you have already done. Make your website bigger, write more content, and interact more on social media.
If you have lots of time on your hands, you can also try this same process with a different product/niche/website. Bootcamp covers how to promote WA and 'internet marketing' products. But many people have success with niches they are more familiar with, featuring things from Amazon or products/services they like. You can create a website on any topic imaginable!
Here is the link to the 'Online Entrepreneur Certification' course that covers these things. A lot of the techniques are the same so you can probably work through it pretty quickly. https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/training/online-entrepreneur-certification-getting-started-level-1
It's not always recommended that you do more than one site at one time or more than one niche at the same time, so you might not want to do this. If that's the case, just keep expanding your current site. That's how you will see traffic grow. Plus, the next phase of Bootcamp is starting on the 24th (I think), so you can look forward to that too.
Thanks for the reply nathaniell. I will look forward to more learning and building skills. There is so much here at WA that it can be a little over stimulating at times but I know that there is a ton of stuff here that will take me to the next level...it's just finding it. I like the idea of starting another niche and have thought about it but for the next couple of weeks I will continue on the WA promotion path and then take it from there. I will definitely take your advice though so thanks again.
